Why the Highway Was Closed?
The Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 was blocked due to massive landslides and flash floods—a natural calamity beyond human control.
Movement of trucks carrying apples and other goods was halted only to ensure public safety. Unfortunately, hundreds of apple trucks got stranded, leading to rotting consignments and financial losses for growers. (2/6)

Government Intervention for Apple Transport:
For the first time in history, apples from Kashmir are being loaded directly onto special parcel trains from Budgam to Delhi and other mandis.
This daily train service, launched by the Union Railway Ministry, was specifically introduced to minimize losses and ensure uninterrupted supply despite roadblocks. (3/6)

Govt efforts to restore connectivity:
Meanwhile, authorities are working round-the-clock to clear landslides & repair damaged stretches at Udhampur, Nashri, Banihal etc.
Departments have been instructed to prioritise movement of fruit trucks and Alternate routes like Mughal Road are also being pushed for smoother apple transportation. (4/6)

This is not a “Deliberate War” on Kashmir’s economy, but a crisis caused by natural disasters. The administration is actively mitigating disruptions with alternate logistics, emergency measures, and infrastructure repair. (5/6)
Public representatives must present facts responsibly. Misleading narratives only spread fear. What Kashmir needs today is resilience, cooperation, and real solutions for farmers and traders not divisive rhetoric.
