The Line in the Sand: Wendigo Works Staff Op-Ed
(a thread - Part 1)

It seems that America is currently standing on a precipice, a step-off point, or a proverbial line in the sand when it comes to domestic low intensity conflict. This is a heavy topic worth exploring. While there has been a long list of instances of civil unrest in the United States since the founding of our country an argument exists to be made for the change of tempo and escalation of domestic “events” since some time between 2017 and the present year. We saw initial “mostly peaceful protests” upon President Trump's 2017 inauguration with a significant rise in tempo during the Summer of Love in 2020. Fast forward to 2024, and we saw two attempted assassinations on President Trump, with the Butler, PA attempt being very public at Trump’s rally. Since the attempts on Trump we have seen the assassination of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, the assassination of Charlie Kirk and the recent shooting at the Dallas ICE detention facility. Part 2 - The Line in the Sand:

So why does this matter and what do these events mean for the average person? A strong argument can be made that there is an organized and well-funded underground operation happening within the United States that basically boils down to a communist-focused color revolution that has been going on for years. To unpack the meaning and trajectory of things let’s start asking some questions, what is a color revolution? Glad you asked. Here’s the definition of a color revolution;

A color revolution is a coordinated movement to topple a government, usually through mass protests and political pressure rather than open warfare. They are often backed by outside funding, media influence, and NGOs, using symbols like colors or flowers to rally support and delegitimize the ruling power. The aim is regime change without a conventional coup. (Continued next post)Image

Part 3 - The Line in the Sand:

The fluffy university types will tell you that this is a non-violent attempt at regime change, but make no mistake, a color revolution is absolutely unconventional warfare. There have been numerous players in this unconventional warfare color revolution game. At a higher level, it's easy to identify groups like ANSWER Coalition, Party for Socialism and Liberation, Democratic Socialists of America, Black Lives Matter, and numerous communist / socialist mutual aid groups. On the more radical and violent end, you have ANTIFA, multiple John Brown Gun club chapters, and training auxiliaries who cross over like the Socialist Rifle Association chapters. These are merely the street-level actors. This excludes the deep web of financiers, and multiple student and university elements who have acted as facilitators behind the scenes for at least the past five years, and certainly much longer. Local city governments in some areas of the country are also guilty of facilitating these groups. There are many layers to this subversive communist effort. And just as our armed forces have a developed tooth to tail logistics chain, so does America’s communist movement. (Continued next post)Image

Part 4 - The Line in the Sand:

The thesis of this writing is that the collective American communist color revolution has stepped beyond the boundaries of employing soft power tactics and has escalated to open terroristic tactics to further its agenda.

Now that we have discussed the players and the game let’s discuss the topic of the escalation of violence and how that impacts the average American. This is where we get to the “line in the sand” metaphor that started this op-ed. Enter the “Resistance Pyramid" developed by the Special Operations Research Office (SORO). I want to give a hat tip to @brushbeater who has been very vocal in calling attention to this growing communist color revolution as well as articulately pointed to the growing escalation of violence within America that has climbed the ladder of the SORO Resistance Pyramid. I would strongly encourage you to watch two videos that @brushbeater has put together regarding the SORO Pyramid and the communist uprising within America. (these videos will be linked at the end of this thread)

Part 5 - The Line in the Sand:

The SORO Resistance Pyramid is a layered model that places political/psychological work and clandestine networks at the base, rising through auxiliary/support functions and guerrilla actions to overt armed insurgency at the apex. Essentially, the Resistance Pyramid shows key mile markers or steps that occur as resistance movements escalate their actions from clandestine dissatisfaction and unrest to overt guerrilla action. This tipping point of covert action crossing over to overt action is our current line in the sand. There is a strong argument to be made that “the line” has been crossed and we are now collectively standing on the “You are here” map marker on the overt side of the “Shadow governance activities” box within the Resistance Pyramid.

Why does this matter? Part of why this matters really depends on your outlook on current domestic events but the other part of this is a consideration of the personal security of yourself and that of your loved ones, dependents, friends, and family. If you put your personal bias aside it's important to recognize both the early warnings, and potential implications as they connect current events within a class of politically motivated violence (i.e. attempted and executed political assassinations). Violence is a fact of life and in this day and age it can occur almost anywhere regardless if you live rural or in a city environment. While politically focused violence may not impact you directly, there certainly are considerations to be made in regard to the second- and third-order effects that can absolutely impact your life.

(Continued next post)Image
Part 6 - The Line in the Sand:

The level of impact or effect (second- and third-order) on you and the people you care about depends on a number of factors. One of the biggest factors is where you live and the type of people who live around you. But don’t get complacent if you live in a small, quiet town or rural community. A close friend in a position of knowing (meaning they have access to trends and data) made an observation that, given the distribution of potential bad actors and the weakened moral state of America, bad things can happen anywhere. That’s nothing to lose sleep over but documented occurrences of shootings, robberies, and violent crimes coupled with an escalating upward trend on the SORO Resistance Pyramid certainly warrant action on the part of personal preparation to combat bad things. This statement doesn’t even include cause for concern over the unknown number of potential bad actors who flooded our country over the last decade. This can be a big black pill but the observation is simply an observation of the current state of things and an admonishment to be proactive in doing something about it.

Part 7 - The Line in the Sand:

The big question is, what can you do about all of this? Most of us love the normalcy and comforts of daily life. It’s nice to peacefully be able to buy gas for your car, go to work, and get that paycheck. Clean drinking water and the ability to buy groceries at the store are standards of living that many of us do not appreciate because that’s what we have known and come to expect for most of our lives. When compared to the history of humanity, it's a luxurious standard of living. In order to maintain that standard of living and to protect our own individual tribes there are a number of actions we can take along with considerations to make. The list to follow is a great starting point, based on priority of action and consideration:

-Intelligence “intel” aka “personal awareness” of the environment around you. While the inclination of many is to “grab muh gun”. It’s honestly best to consider your personal operational environment. Where do you live, work, go to school, church, etc.? What are your daily travel routes? How do you get in and out of your area? Are there alternative routes if there is a major emergency? What resources are around you? Where does your food and water really come from outside of “the store”? Setting a baseline of life around you helps you first to know if something is out of the scope of normal. Conduct a personal area assessment or area study. Just remember that true intelligence is simply actionable information, and actionable information has a shelf life. (Great accounts to follow @s2_underground @KBR_Intel @grayzoneintel )

-Inventory of personal readiness. This is the inventory list of your personal preps. Do you have at a minimum, 72 hours of food and water on hand? Do you have extra water for cooking, cleaning, and hygiene outside of drinking? Do you have 72 hours’ worth of fuel resources to cook food, heat water, and keep yourself warm? Do you have a flashlight and spare batteries? Do you have adequate medical supplies? Extra prescription medicine if you are on a prescription? Do you know how to use your medical supplies? Do you know first aid? Can you stop a serious bleed? Do you have a tourniquet? Can you properly apply a tourniquet? Do you know what a tourniquet is? Do you have back up shelter? What kind of transportation do you have? What kind of shape is your transportation in? Do you have back up transportation? What are your personal preparedness redundancies? This is by no means a complete list but represents questions to get you thinking. Medical cannot be stressed enough.

-Communications. Do you have a communications plan? Do you have a way to get in touch with your people if a cell phone is not an option? Do you have a rally point or meetup spot for your tribe if things go to crap? Do you have a radio? Does it have extra batteries? Do you know how to use your radio? Do others in your circle of family and friends also have radios? Do you have enough practice that you could establish local radio comms in an emergency? What other methods of communication do you have? Do you know how to use them? Communication is massively important. If some major emergency or bad thing happens, it’s amazing what can be done to mitigate said emergency with quality information and a solid comms plan. Even though radios may not be your thing it's highly advisable to pick up a cheap Baofeng UV5R and NC Scout’s book, “The Guerillas Guide to the Baofeng Radio”. Read the book and spend a few Saturdays at a park with a pair of UV5R radios using the MURS frequencies (no ham license required) and you will quickly become familiar with the basics. @Brushbeater brushbeater.store

-Daily Kit. While most folks know the subject of everyday carry (EDC), we are in a new era of consideration. Obviously it's a great idea and highly advisable to daily carry a sidearm, quality knife, flashlight, tourniquet, etc. We are now living in a time to reconsider keeping the necessary tools on hand and accessible given the rising escalations. Consider keeping a rifle, if not a PCC (pistol caliber carbine) stowed in your vehicle during your daily routine. Make sure this is a functional and zeroed platform with appropriate ammo. Rifles pack more punch but PCCs can be more accommodating for concealed movement in situations that require a backpack or courier bag. Don’t forget extra loaded magazines. Equal consideration to be given to carrying a legitimate individual first aid kit (IFAK). This needs to include proper gauze (i.e. hemostatic gauze), compression bandages, chest seals, and all the things. Consider a minimum of two tourniquets. Carry extra water in a quality container and a few extra energy bars or some other calorie-dense packable food source. It’s a good idea to throw that radio, that was previously mentioned, into the mix as well. Another consideration to make is a slick plate carrier and armor. This may sound like a lot of extra hassle but you won’t regret the extra effort should something go sideways in your daily life. This extra daily kit is ideal for carrying in your vehicle. Short of the armor the rest of this kit can be carried in a backpack if carrying a PCC-sized platform. If you are behind enemy lines in the state of New York, or Massachusetts it's time to sharpen a stick and adopt a winner’s attitude.

Part 8 - The Line in the Sand:

Now is the perfect time for everyone to step up their personal vigilance game. In review of the SORO Resistance Pyramid it looks like we have now crossed the line into new territory of conflict escalation in the United States of America. While this doesn’t mean we are at the level of civil war, it does mean that we could very likely see a move from a soft power conflict model (mostly peaceful protests, etc.) to kinetic low-intensity conflict that looks like the American version of the Irish Troubles. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail but it is best to be prepared than caught lacking.
