Alright! Well…. I thought I would never see the day, but apparently my Brother sewing machine is officially on strike against me😑
So, long story short, my zig zag stitch was acting weird. The 1st time, all I did was turn the tension dial & I genuinely thought I had fixed it💁🏼♀️
Now, here I’m trying to create some special flesh colored gloves for Ragatha, next thing I know, it acts up on me again. Even WITH me adjusting the tension dial, it still was giving me a straight stitch, even though I selected the zigzag stitch😞
I had done some research a while
back & apparently, the zigzag stitch mechanic inside the machine CAN get stuck & it can be fixed👍🏻
Thankfully, I do have a sewing machine specifically store that I can take it to get it fixed😁
Because my Brother sewing machine is electronic (select stitches by button pressing)
, it’s going to be in the hundreds to take it in. I decided to just bite the bullet & get me a new sewing machine🧵 🪡
I’m just glad there are sewing machines for $150-$200. My very 1st sewing machine was a basic Kenmore that cost me around $50-$100 back in the day.
I’ll
eventually get my Brother sewing machine fixed, but it’s just better right now to get a new 1. Besides, I got find the right time to spend on bringing it in TO have it looked at & fixed🤗
Not exactly how I wanted to get my new sewing machine, but it is what it is🤷🏼♀️

This was among the 1st thing I saw over at my local Spirit Of Halloween store🎃👻💀🕸️🕷️🦇🐦⬛🐈⬛
What you see 1st is kids sizes, then adult sizes💁🏼♀️ When I went the 2nd time, there was a Kakashi costume for the adults & the MHA UA High School uniform was gone (I guess sold🤷🏼♀️)
Again, there was hardly any anime there when I went💁🏼♀️
I’ll check at least 1 to 2 more times, just in case. The Spirit Of Halloween online store is almost no different.
All you have to do is type in “Anime” in the search & you literally don’t even get half a page of the anime
costumes.
Take away the anime themed socks, coffee cups, tumblers, blankets, tapestries, etc., you barely touch the 1st page with costumes & the accessories.
Here, the only anime I see is, Demon Slayer, Naruto, & One Piece. Even One Piece is barely
Alright guys! I think this is a major turning point for us legit anime geeks🤗
I say this because while I was out yesterday, I went to my local Spirit Of Halloween store. I literally can’t tell you, whether kids or adults, there was hardly any anime costumes in the store😯
For the anime series costumes, this was all I could find. Of course there were kid size Amazing Digital Circus, but as far as the anime series goes, hardly any.
As for Walmart, there were absolutely NO anime series costumes. For both stores, the only thing there were mainly
Pokemon onesies, but I think the bubble has officially popped for us legitimate anime geeks.
I’m still going to keep an eye out, but I think we can officially start reclaiming our community👍🏻
These were the only things of anime series that I saw at my local Spirit Of Halloween
Actually, with them, Twitch, Reddit, & Steam who are supposed to be testifying in front of Congress, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if all 4 of these sites, including TikTok, were to be permanently deleted/banned/suspended from ever being used again🤷🏼♀️
Anime Review: Durarara (Season 1 & the 2 Special episodes)
So I just finished Season 1 of Durarara, including the 2 special episodes. It’s a 2011 anime with Season 1 having 24 episodes. I’m not really a fan of having to jump between the episodes & the 2 special episodes, but I
I do understand why, though💁🏼♀️
For Durarara, it’s fantastic😁 When it comes to Shizuo, I literally couldn’t stop laughing my butt off🤣
For the story plot, it was relatively simple to follow, but I do like how it would kind of partly replay the previous episode in a different
perspective & how each conclusion lead up to what it did. The plot twists were really great👍🏻
It was like, you knew everyone was connected somehow, but couldn’t figure it out up towards the end episodes.
With episodes 1-12, you jump to Special Episode 1. Then from there, you
I have to respectfully disagree with this & let me explain🤗
So, back in the day where anime was at its peak (thanks 90’s Toonami & thanks Pokemon for coming over) it was still relatively big, even though it was a niche audience.
pretty big in size & the cosplays would be mainly anime, along with some video characters (as it should be because ‘anime’ convention🤷🏼♀️)
A majority of the cosplays would not only be made from scratch, but the Cosplay Contests were actually a lot more fair because there wasn’t
any way to store buy your cosplays back then (yeah a few, but a majority of them were considered closet cosplays)
In terms of merchandise, that’s what made the conventions worth while, it was because of the limited anime brick-&-mortar stores is what drew the legit anime geeks
