I’m sick of the anti-intellectualism all over the political spectrum. “Nazi symbols aren’t a big deal because everyone’s stupid & illiterate.”
Can we fucking treat ppl like adults? The left should be trying to expand education & literacy, not shrugging at it. The left should not be incurious and dismissive. There are plenty of other political factions for ppl with those traits.
I was cautiously optimistic about Platner, as we should always be at first. But he seemed good on policy. I wanted to hear a more forceful & substantive rebuke of his time in the military & Blackwater, but I gave it time & didn’t write him off.
He explained a bit but I thought he was still being cagey, especially about Blackwater. It would be sick to have someone who was on the inside of those places change his mind and turn against it. Spill it. Run on anti-PMCs. I haven’t seen that.
The thing I’m really curious about is how we’re supposed to carry on as the pro-Palestine movement, wrongfully accused of antisemitism for years now, with the Nazi tattoo guy in a leadership position.
Is there no one else in all of Maine who can run? Why are we so blinkered?
