"Then the interpreters differed regarding the meaning of 'taking'...
Some said: 'It is the taking [of soul] during sleep' and according to them, the meaning was: 'I am causing you to sleep and raising you during your sleep.'"
VIEW #3: TAWAFFA = DEATH (In End Times)
"And others said: The meaning is: When Allah said, 'O Jesus, I am raising you to Me...I will cause you to die after I send you back down to the world.' They said: This is from what is presented earlier but meant to be later..."
VIEW #4: TAWAFFA = PHYSICAL TAKING
"Others said: The meaning is: 'I am taking you from the earth and raising you to Me.'...I am seizing you from the earth alive to My presence, and taking you to what is with Me without death, and raising you..."
CONCLUSION
• No Ijma' that Isa AS is alive
• Even Salaf had differing views so how can there be Ijma'?
• 3/4 views of Salaf translate 'Tawaffa' as 'taking of the soul'. NOT the body!
• 2/4 translate it as DEATH
1) "He [Allah] has also informed me that Jesus is truly one of the very beloved and pious servants of God and is one of those who are the chosen people of God whom God purifies with His own Hand and keeps them under the shadow of His light..and is among the perfect ones.."
2) "There is no doubt that the Prophet Jesus as is a great Prophet of God. He is without question loved and honoured by God, a light of this world and the sun of guidance. He was glorified before the Lord God and possessed a status close to His throne."
Many Muslims believe Isa AS is alive and will fly down from the sky only because ahadith mention his descent in the latter days.
1. Contradicts the Quran and Ahadith. 2. Ahadith don't mention descent from "sky/heaven".
