Waiting Here for You
I have written before about the blessings to be found by us when we wait on the LORD. This morning He continued that theme with a word for TODAY about the tremendous blessing in how He waits for us. The bible says that He has always waited patiently for us and continues to do so
today. But as He said through His servant Isaiah yesterday, “we are a people of unclean lips” and we have a tendency to be very stubborn and determined to do things our own way.

to Him, He waits for us, already knowing the day and time when this will happen when we turn and see His out-stretched arms. He alone knows and He waits. This was my testimony for most of my life until He got my attention. Even after we are saved, the tendency still remains for
us to stubbornly try to live our lives and even do His work the way we want to. But He continues to wait for us as He teaches us the power when we wait for Him. Even as His children, we still struggle with the idea that we have control over His business and the results that only
come from His Spirit. Still He waits for us as He teaches us to wait for Him. This has been a never-ending story and theme from the beginning (see the scripture from Isaiah).
Today 2 Peter 3:8-10 is a picture of how He is even patiently waiting for us still today. Only He knows

when that moment will come, when the chaos for His children will end and when the number will be complete (when the work of His Spirit will be finished). When that moment comes, He will cease waiting and we will all know it clearly as absolute justice is established through
judgment. No, He is not being slow about His promise to come and set things right. Not willing that any should perish, He is being patient for our sake.

“Because you despise what I tell you
and trust instead in oppression and lies,
