This post seems to have struck a nerve for many and I’d like to follow up with a few points
Am I bearish crypto? Absolutely not. The things I'm bullish on are highlighted below.
I'm only bearish projects that impoverish their users, especially due to information advantages held by the few
This should be straightforward - if crypto users get poorer over time then more will leave and fewer will enter, that’s not what we want
In an ideal world investors would stop funding these things and users would refrain from playing, but in reality this likely continues bc as long as we’re giving attention to these asymmetric games we’re losing focus on building replacements for what we dislike in the current financial system
So that’s it - less gambling, more serious projects doing real things
Overall, I’m highly optimistic. Here are 5 areas that I’m bullish on:
1. Tokenized assets - not just equities but all forms of financial assets that are often hard to access (i.e., must be UHNW or work with select broker dealers)
I'm in the Larry Fink camp and believe ultimately all financial assets will be tokenized, so I'm bullish projects like @SuperstateInc @Securitize @DinariGlobal and @OndoFinance who are helping shape this future
2. Onchain capital formation - what crypto does best is mobilize capital on a global basis, and given my point above, I believe we'll see the emergence of token-first underwriters who help create capital structures for companies well beyond just crypto-native projects
I'm bullish @legiondotcc but consider me biased here given my involvement
3. Stablecoins and crypto-native neobanks - it's hard not to be bullish given the regulatory and macro tailwinds
I don't have a great view yet on the new stablecoin chains, but I'm bullish @EtherFi and similar card projects because the products are great, and I'm bullish projects that aim to make swapping across currencies and stables as seamless as swapping on Uniswap (awaiting the KeetaPay product from @KeetaNetwork - and yes, I still hold my bag)
4. Agentic finance - we're still in the very early innings of agents that can do broader tasks with intent, and I am bullish projects working on the coordination and associated payments layers
5. Bitcoin financial products - as BTC becomes less volatile and more widely accepted for its store of wealth, we'll see more products emerge that allow people to tap into in more efficient ways
Keeping eyes on projects like @Strike @lava_xyz @meanwhilelife among others
There are other pockets of interest for me but those are my top 5. Plenty of things for the industry to fund and champion instead of constantly promoting the latest gambling game or reskinned ponzi
