When you immigrate to permanently live in America, you admit the country you left sucks. Please don't grandstand about how much Americans suck. You thought wherever the hell you are from and the people there sucked more so you left. Why are you pretending otherwise? Why lie?
I left Ukraine because it sucked and America was better. I don't find any difficulty in admitting this, it's objective fact. The average immigrant does struggle with this, though. Crazy, isn't it? They can't even be honest with themselves.
Most anti-American people are petty, bitter and insecure. They have inferiority complexes about their origins and life circumstances and feel the need to personally defend themselves if you remind them about them. They will not admit fault with the places they're from, or the tribes they are part of, because they're ashamed of the truth. Constitutionally brittle and hollow people can't simply acknowledge uncomfortable facts. This is perhaps why their own countries are falling apart and they can't bear to live in them: you can never fix a problem you do not recognize to exist. But because they don't recognize American problems as their own, they have no problem complaining about everything while in America. They project their unprocessed inner shame onto you, the American. How dare he be proud of his country? How dare he think its worth preserving? I better tell him now how important I am around here. How important my people are! The anti-American never notices how cringe and retarded and gay he sounds to everyone with any sense of shame. One might wonder if they have mirrors in any other country, because these foreigners never appear to see themselves.
Humility and gratitude are wonderful traits to have for anyone. But especially for an immigrant, refugee, and every type of guest. Were it up to me, I would exclude anyone from this country who does not possess these two traits in abundance. Ingrates are the scum of the earth.
