Over the last week or so, I’ve been asking myself: why is NC swarming with illegal immigrants?

We aren’t a border state.
We aren’t near the Caribbean.

It just doesn’t make sense.

At least not until you go down the rabbit hole…

A friend sent me some info on Welcoming America.

Ever heard of them? Me either.

So I did some research. Who is Welcoming America? And what do they do?

Welcoming America is a U.S.-based nonprofit launched in 2009 with the goal of making communities “more inclusive” for everyone, regardless of where they were born.

It runs a nationwide network of roughly 300 cities, counties, and local organizations, offering them practical tools, training, certification programs (like Certified Welcoming places), and campaigns that help local leaders welcome IMMIGRANTS, strengthen social cohesion, and build broader community support for immigrant integration.

Does it matter if the immigrants are legal? NOPE!

And they’re VERY active in North Carolina. 🧵

According to the ad, donors who are helping fund illegal immigration here in North Carolina include: Western Union, the City of Dallas, TX, AARP, Soros funded organizations, and entities with ties to Hansjörg Wyss.

Did y’all know about this? Is there more to Welcoming America? If so, I’d be interested in hearing about it.

I’ve been shocked by the lack of info available about the recent flooding in NC.

And, quite frankly, disturbed by the lack of interest.

So this morning, we’re going to take a look at what’s happened as a result of Chantal and the recent thunderstorms that have struck central NC.

To those who have so quickly written these storms off as no big deal: are you aware that 6 people died?

Chatham County - 3
Orange County - 1
Alamance County - 1
Graham County - 1

The Haw River crested at 32.5 feet, just shy of the record set during Hurricane Fran.

The Eno crested at 25.63 feet, breaking the previous record.

The Chapel Hill Fire Department performed more than 50 water rescues during Chantal.

Roads were washed out, 60 people were displaced, and 23,000 were without power.

Let’s get a little personal this morning:

I grew up hard. I was born to teenage parents from opposite ends of the state. They split before I was old enough to form memories of what a family looks like.

Mamaw and Papaw took me in after my parents split. I spent my formative years in Canton on a cattle farm. We were poor - but my life was full of love.

Daddy had a TBI and spent the majority of my life self medicating. Though he loved me, I’ve never doubted that, he was often abusive after substance use. I would live with him for a few weeks… and then DSS would show up. My bags would be packed and I’d end up back with Mamaw and Papaw.
My experiences during those years included severe poverty, public housing, trailer parks, and abuse.

Thankfully, mama sued for custody. Something I wasn’t grateful for at the time - but look back on and realize that though Mamaw and Papaw were my world, mama would break her back to ensure I could succeed.

And she did. We might’ve lived in trailer parks and shopped at Goodwill - but my mama worked as machinist. She busted her ass in a man’s job to pull us out of poverty. It took her a decade but she pulled it off.
Sadly, daddy didn’t get help until after I was grown. And so my teen years were just as bad as my childhood. Every time I visited I experienced a new trauma. A new scar on my psyche.

My first adult relationship was with an abusive boy. Luckily, I quickly escaped and decided that I would never put myself in the hands of another cruel man. I stuck by that. But I came out of that relationship with PTSD.

My next relationship was with my husband. We married and made babies. But I brought all of that trauma and all of those daddy issues with me.

🚨UPDATE🚨

It’s been a long day, y’all. And I have a lot to tell everyone regarding the baby in Swannanoa story. I was going to make a video - but painting kinda got in the way. Now I’ve got paint in my hair and a regular post will just have to do.

Here we go…

After I shared today’s video, Kristin, the logistics coordinator of Patriot Survival Tactical Team reached out to me about Ralph and asked that I give her a call.

Her DM is pictured (with permission). I cut it to remove her contact information. As you can see, Kristin confirms that the story circulating about the baby is false. Not only is it false but everyone knew it was false from the beginning. 🧵Image
I did call Kristin and we spoke for an hour. Well, actually - I spent most of that time speaking to Ralph’s partner, Justin.

I shared Justin’s arrest record in my video. Justin could have ripped into me. He could’ve cussed me out and threatened me. He didn’t. He was kind, respectful, and gracious.

We discussed his past and all of the work he has put into turning his life around. Now, I don’t know Justin. But considering the tone of our conversation - I have no reason to believe that what he said wasn’t true.

I firmly believe that all of us have the ability to change and grow. I certainly know that I have as I’ve aged.
Kristin and Justin told me that they have had issues with Ralph for some time now and gave me permission to share the following:

Ralph has not been on the ground in WNC for more than three days. They stated that he has been in Florida, DC, or NJ while Justin has been on the ground running their team.

Further, the board of directors is against the politicization of the disaster in WNC. They have even attempted to say as much on social media but those posts have been deleted. They shared the following screenshot with me:Image

On Friday the 13th, I researched and posted information about horror movies filmed in Wilmington. It was a lighthearted post meant to highlight the culture of movies in our state.

As we all know. I don’t allow my hard work and research to be politicized or used by any party to spread their ideology.

When this happens, I will ask why my content is being politicized. I will ask you not to do so. And when someone argues, I block them. Then I move on - because that’s what sane people do.

That wasn’t the case in this instance. I allowed myself to get sucked in. Let me show y’all what happened following this altercation.

Please know I had to hide all of those initial replies because multiple people entered the conversation to harass me - but you are welcome to view my responses.
At this point, @MovingNCForward stepped in. Politicizing the same post as some sort of own of me. I told them I don’t allow that. You can find that post of theirs on their account to see my response.
