Oh, and the Cole’s bond business was used to free illegal aliens.
The Cole’s bond business explicitly offers “immigration bail” services.
Their website advertises immigration bonds, same-day release and bilingual agents.
They’ll “help you and your family members in obtaining an immigration bond.”
The Cole’s bond business operates nationwide and markets to people detained by ICE.
They provide financing and bonding services so detainees can be released while immigration cases proceed.
They’ve even engaged in litigation over how immigration bonds are administered.
They (and related parties) sued the Department of Homeland Security/ICE over the administration of the immigration-bond system; the D.C. Circuit rejected their claims.
Court records show their company and its principals were subject to enforcement actions and civil penalties in at least one state for violations tied to posting immigration bonds and related insurance/license issues.
A 2019 press-release by Libre says that the company funds “free legal services through Nexus Derechos Humanos Attorneys, Inc., and the Caridades Immigrant Legal Defense Project … as part of its corporate giving,” describing those as part of “support to detained immigrants and their families.”
In the CFPB 2021 multi-state complaint against Libre by Nexus & Nexus Services, the firms are described as “preying on consumers held in federal detention centers.”
Letitia James has entered the chat.
Libre by Nexus (refers clients to Brian Cole) said that 60–70% of all profits from Libre are “reinvested into the ‘charitable arm’ of the company, Nexus Caridades,” which provides pro-bono legal aid to “immigrants.”
We’re following the money is what we’re doing.
Nexus Caridades is funded by the profits of Libre by Nexus (parent company Nexus Services, Inc.)
I can’t find any annual reports, 990s, or anything that shows donors or revenue for Nexus Caridades.
No transparency =
Their funding appears to be private, tied to the for-profit bail-bond business itself.
Nexus Caridades, Inc. and Nexus Caridades Attorneys, Inc. are on a list described as “subsidiaries” of Nexus Services, Inc. law.justia.com/cases/federal/…
In Georgia, there was a company registered under the name “NEXUS CARIDADES ATTORNEYS INC.”
She was chosen for the Honors Program at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
Mary Donne Peters is a Founder of Gorby Peters & Associates, LLC., which is listed as a registered agent for the company (Nexus) sending clients (illegals) to Brian Cole’s bond business.
According to her firm’s profile, she has a strong commitment to philanthropy via the outreach of her law firm. $$$
What happened to Jessica? Photo on the left is most current. Went in looking like a professional, came out looking like Antifa.
