Sophie Scholl (1921–1943)

SophieScholl, 22-year-old activist of the German anti-Nazi organization „White Rose” [1] [2]. On Feb. 18, 1943, she was arrested by the Gestapo.

On Feb. 22, 1943, the presiding judge of the bench Karl Roland Freisler (1893–1945) [3] [4], President of the Peopleʼs Court of the Greater Germanic Reich, sentenced her to death. On the same day, at 5 p.m., she was guillotined.
3).
The executioner, Johan Reichart (1893–1972) [5] later said that he had never seen anyone die as boldly as Shophie Scholl [6] [7].
