The Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act is a 1994 United States federal law (18 U.S.C. § 248) designed to protect access to reproductive health services and religious worship.

Prohibited Actions
The act makes it a federal crime to use force, threats of

force, or physical obstruction to:

Interfere with religious freedom: Obstructing anyone exercising their First Amendment right to religious freedom at a place of worship.

Recent Applications: In January 2026, federal officials cited the FACE Act while investigating an

anti-ICE protest that disrupted a church service in Minnesota.

Penalties
Violations can result in significant criminal and civil penalties:

Lauren Boebert just put something on the record that the media refuses to touch.

She asked point-blank about research where human fetal tissue was implanted into lab animals.

And the expert witness didn’t hesitate:

GOODMAN: “We did an analysis showing that over 90% of experiments using human fetal tissue — and putting them into animals —
