Stephen Richer posted that his favorite President was George Washington because of his willingness to relinquish power. Unfortunately, Richer is nothing like Washington. After voters told him they had had enough, he and a largely outgoing Board of Supervisors decided they would enter an agreement that would stymie Richer's better. Nothing like trying to govern beyond your term and after a sound rejection by voters. When a politician is soundly rejected by voters, any agreements made by that politician after the election should be discarded lest we are willing to discard the will of the people. If the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors does not restore the 2023 shared services agreement and the election of 2026 mimics that of 2022, the Board will be solely liable.
