Introducing Perplexity Computer.

Computer unifies every current AI capability into one system.

It can research, design, code, deploy, and manage any project end-to-end.
Perplexity Computer is massively multi-model.

Computer orchestrates models to run agents in parallel, leveraging Opus to match each task to the model best suited for it.

In total, Computer can route work across 19 different models.
Perplexity Computer is what a personal computer in 2026 should be.

It’s personal to you, remembers your past work, and is secure by default.

Hundreds of connectors, persistent memory, files, and web access, all built on top of Perplexity infrastructure.
Go from a single task to hundreds of active projects.

Clear your to‑do list, move active projects forward, or kick off a new side project.

Follow our live stream of curated Computer tasks:

Perplexity Computer uses usage‑based pricing with optional sub‑agent model selection and spending caps.

Choose different models for different sub‑agent tasks and control token spend.

Max users get 10,000 credits per month included with their subscription.

We’re also giving a one‑time bonus of 20,000 extra credits, granted at launch for existing users and at signup for new users, that expires 30 days after it’s granted.
Available on web for Max subscribers today, and coming soon to Perplexity Pro and Enterprise.

We're open-sourcing the Unigram tokenizer we rebuilt to reduce CPU utilization by 5-6x.

Small rerankers and embedders run in single-digit milliseconds on GPU, making CPU tokenization a meaningful share of total latency.

github.com/perplexityai/p…Image
The work targets XLM-RoBERTa’s 250K-token Unigram vocabulary, commonly used for ranking and retrieval.

The encoder produces the same tokens as the reference implementation, but avoids rebuilding strings and chasing hash maps while deciding how text should be split. Image
At production input lengths, the encoder cuts p50 latency by roughly 5× vs. HuggingFace tokenizers, 2× vs. SentencePiece C++, and 1.5× vs. IREE C.

At 514 tokens, it runs in 63 µs with zero heap allocations. Image

The Perplexity API platform is now a full-stack, model-agnostic API platform for building agents.

It replaces your model provider, search layer, and embeddings, built on the same infrastructure that powers Perplexity. Image
The Perplexity API platform consists of four APIs with one API key.

Agent API — orchestrate models for multi-step workflows
Search API — real-time web context
Embeddings API — retrieval at scale
Sandbox API — code execution for agents (coming soon)
Perplexity Agent API is a managed runtime for building agentic workflows with integrated search, tool execution, and multi-model orchestration.

Swap between the latest frontier models, configure curated presets, tool access, step limits, and token budgets, all from one endpoint. Image

Harvard and Perplexity researchers conducted the first large‑scale field study of how people use AI agents.

We analyzed hundreds of millions of anonymized user interactions in Comet to answer three questions: who’s using agents, how much, and what for.

perplexity.ai/hub/blog/how-p…
More than half of all agent activity focuses on cognitive work.

Agent use is dominated by Productivity & Workflow (36% of queries) and Learning & Research (21%).

Users rely on the assistant to think through something, synthesize findings, and take action on those learnings. Image
Most agent queries come from personal use (55%), followed by professional (30%) and educational (16%) contexts.

New users often start with low-stakes questions like travel or trivia. Over time, they shift to more complex topics like productivity, learning, and career advice. Image
