Congress has devoted an entire page to Foreign Policy in its manifesto. I try to deconstruct it here in this thread🧵 Image
First things first, Congress is saying that PM Modi’s foreign policy has made a serious departure from Nehruvian consensus. I agree 👍 But then Congress says they will restore the Nehruvian consensus. There I don’t agree:
Nehruvian Idealism cost India its self-interest in many domains- UNSC seat, Kashmir issue to UN, Appeasement of China and so on… not to mention the slow economic growth. No one in their right mind wants any of it back 🙏🏻
