Many architects recently passed out of the NYSC service and are now looking forward to what is next in their career, wondering 'what do I do now?'

When I graduated then, ofcourse, it was btech, instead of immediately pursuing my MSC, I opted for NYSC straight away (a mistake I wish I never made) although, it was more due to lack of funds than willingness. But eventually I regretted it.

So, I will strongly advice you to
Make Sure you complete your msc program before leaving your uni and if you haven't done so, now that you are done with NYSC, please, go back and do the MSC first even if its on some debt. The reason is because, your ultimate goal is to become a licensed Architect. If you are not

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR PROCESSING OF BUILDING (DEVELOPMENT) APPROVAL (PERMIT)

1. Certified True Copy of title e.g. C of O, Governor’s Consent, Deed of Conveyance etc.

2. Survey Plan

3. 5 sets of Architectural Drawings

4. 5 sets of Structural Drawings

5. 5 sets of Mechanical Drawings

6. 5 sets of Electrical Drawings

7. Tax Clearance:
(i) Tax Clearance of Individual Applicant
(ii) Tax Clearance of Company Applicant
(iii) Tax Clearance of 2 Directors
(iv) PAYE returns of Company

8. Planning Technical Report (where necessary)

9. Where necessary clearance letter from:
(i) Land Use And Allocation Committee (LUAC)
(ii). New Town Development Authority (NTDA)
(iii). Ministry of Environment (Drainage Department) (iv). Ministry of Transportation (Metro Alignment/Traffic Report)

10. Photocopy of payment of assessment fees
(i) Main assessment fee
(ii). 10% Local Planning Authority
(iii). Lagos State Emergency Management Agency
(iv). Special Enhancement Fees Infrastructural Development Charges
