Once again, my opponent has chosen the “the law doesn’t require me to do so” excuse. Satellite polling locations will not allow yard sign displays during early voting. This is how freedom erodes… slowly.

First, they said “Let’s do early voting! It will be exactly the same as Election Day. There’s nothing to worry about!”.
Then, they say, “No, we don’t have to allow poll watchers and challengers during early voting, because the law doesn’t require us to do so.”
Now 40% +/- of the ballots are cast without either political party being able to watch or challenge the process. This is NOT what integrity looks like. This is NOT transparency.
Then, they say, “No, we don’t have to allow yard sign displays during early voting, because the law doesn’t require us to allow it.” Now 40% +/- of the voters will not have the exposure to candidate information 25 ft. from the entrances during early voting.
And candidates will not have the opportunity to make that last minute impression on voters as they walk in to vote. This is NOT what freedom looks like. This is NOT transparency.
As Director of Elections, I will allow poll watchers and challengers during legally mandated early voting. Because when ballots are being cast and votes are being tabulated, The People have the right to be a part of the process.
Because when ballots are being cast and votes are being tabulated, The People have the right to be a part of the process. I will also ensure that yard signs are permitted at any and all polling locations where ballots are cast and votes are tabulated.
Voters and candidates deserve the full Election Day experience — transparency, access, and freedom — during early voting or on Election Day itself.
VOTE Jen Olson for Director of Elections on August 4th!
