In this thread I will introduce you to UNFOLLOW TUESDAY, a concept aimed at making the reach of scammers, grifters, swindlers, manipulators and chronicical liars smaller within NAFO and Pro Ukrainian circles. Please read to understand the concept and share this thread.🧵👇

Let's be clear, it can be hard sometimes to distinguish people with good intentions from those that try to use this war for their own needs. While following or retweeting these accounts seems innocent it's an opportunity for them to whitewash their reputation and grift.

This thread is not meant for your own personal battles, we'll keep it at the current cases stated. So what can you do? If you follow any of these accounts - block. See any accounts you follow or that are following you follow them? Tag them under the tweet

In the following tweets we will discuss known cases. Each in their own way has undermined Ukrainian support, but you be the judge!

🇺🇦 scammer couple @ OlenaRohoza and @ MykhailoRohoza aka @ oct7neverforget. They deliberately post fake news, use fake sad stories for donations while in 🇨🇦, also steal content. Mykhailo also called NAFO pedofiles and scammers when being called out for his grift.

@ ukrainiansquad back up @ UKRAINIANSQUAD2 and @ ukraininsquad is a huge grifter account pretending to be connected to the 🇺🇦 army, it asks for donations regularly. In reality this account isn't based in Ukraine and no cent will ever go there.

The account @ DDGeopolitics is connected to Sarah Bills, better known as Donbas Devushka. She ran a scam pretending to be from the Donbas. 🇷🇺 propaganda, desinfo and calls to support 🇷🇺 and even fundraisers could all be found on her YT channel. DD geopolitics isn't much better.

The account @ MeanwhileInUA asks for donations and states Ukraine as a location but according to X is based in Germany. It was caught red handed copying messages of @NAFOvoyager.

The account @ James0027705762 aka Arvid is a German based account with Ukrainian eye avatar, while it pretends to be pro Ukrainian like that it will repost RU propaganda in between neutral messages about the war in Ukraine. Like Kremlin parrot Chay Bowes. There are many like this

There's been quite the controversy surrounding @ Ukraine_DAO and one of its founders Alona aka @ cryptodrftng . With good reason as the DAO crowd has tarnished people's reputations and used malicious practices to let organisations favour their tournequets and used scams

An example of the scam was when they fraudently had stated it had transferred 100k in crypto to organisation Bon Defence while they hadn't received a penny. Knowing they have also started an Iran project and with @ Daometaplayer being based in Dubai,the grift goes intetnational

Another famous scam was MRIYA REPORT @ MriyaReport (not to be confused with 🇨🇦Mriya organisation that genuinely helps 🇺🇦) being lead by Yehuda (also goes by Joe or Joseph) Friedman also known as Yehuda Amzallagh @ YAmzallagh. Helped by @ MERIDISTRisk. Donations were misused and..

...volunteers were manipulated and over the board treated badly. Another founder Axel Ludwig Jacob @ BalticSnowTiger levereged the position of the MRIYA REPORT broadcasting to get more influence in 🇺🇦 government circles with his KJA org according to The Ottowa Citizen.

The story of The Georgian Legion. @ georgian_legion is a sad one, many people donated to it, like @LoisAceLane who then was treated quite disrespectfully. It was the writing on the wall of what kind of scam this was.

Main organiser Taras Reshetylo luckily has been banned from X, though his partner in crime @ MandisaurusHeks is still out there. The organisation claimed that donations would go to the Georgian Legion but past 2023 it wasn't operating as a unit in the 🇺🇦 army.

It claimed that @ Mamulashvili_M was its commander, while he did fight in 🇺🇦 he was never a commander as such. The funds collected thus also didn't benefit the 🇺🇦 army but solely the pockets of draftdodger Taras Reshetylo (in US) and his friends. @ help_mgeli is also connected.

A famous scam on YouTube but sometimes also promoted on X is @ Enforcerofficial, two US lawyer kids pretending to fundraise for Ukraine while pocketing most of the money and slander others in the pro 🇺🇦 community.

Well most of you are aware but Ukrainians like @ HavryshkoMarta @ Volod_Ishchenko and Bulgarian @ rochowanski all hold negative views about Ukraine, spread 🇷🇺 drivel and basically favour communism.

There are many small accounts I didn't mention. Obviously X has been flooded with accounts pretending to be Ukrainian soldiers while being based in Asia or Africa (click on registrationdate to see their location). In such cases report and tag @ScamBustersHQ

This account is a good example @ rusyadanilkin which is a bit bigger, normally they only have 150 followers max. The mechanism remains the same though, if they are real Ukrainians/soldiers and only 30% or less follow them back it's a scammer in 95% of the times.

So what can you do?

1. Go to the mentioned profiles, unfollow and block
2. Tag people you know (followers) if you see they are also following that account
3. Share this topic, so more people are aware
4. Make em small again!

One could get the impression that many fundraisers and accounts are like this, but luckily it's only a small minority of rotten apples.
