Gary Cohen on the Orioles/Kevin Brown controversy.
"Let me just say one thing to Baltimore Orioles management. You draped yourself in humiliation when you fired Jon Miller. And you're doing it again. And if you don't want Kevin Brown, there are 29 other teams who do."
NESN's Dave O'Brien and Kevin Youkilis on Kevin Brown and the Orioles:
"That's a fiasco that that's allowed to happen. And I think every announcer in the league feels the same way... That's a joke and I hope he's reinstated immediately."
Angels broadcaster Wayne Randazzo on Kevin Brown and the Orioles:
"Sometimes, facts are facts, and we have to sit here and talk about them, whether they're pretty or not. And in Baltimore, certainly, they have had some different reactions to that sort of thing."
The White Sox take the lead after it's ruled -- after review -- that Rangers catcher Jonah Heim didn't give Elvis Andrus a lane to home plate. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy was ejected.
Even the NBC Sports Chicago crew -- Jason Benetti & Steve Stone -- couldn't believe the ruling.
"I have no idea why that was a violation... It doesn't look like [Heim is] in front of the plate and he gives [Andrus] the outside corner to slide to... I think it's a great break for the Sox, however, it doesn't look to me like [Heim] impeded anything."- Steve Stone
"This will be talked about for a long while... This is one of those where the catchers of the world are going to say, 'What do we do?'"- Jason Benetti
ESPN doing a really good job covering the now suspended Bills vs Bengals game. Buck, Aikman, and Salters all with the right tone.
Studio folks helping out with Booger showing the emotion most viewers are feeling.
ESPN in the tough situation where nobody has much to say because there isn’t much to say. They cannot breakaway from covering this story but it’s just incredibly uncomfortable to really say much. This is just extremely tough to navigate.
“The game is not important now…Life is important”
ESPN’s biggest MNF this season has now become a situation with waning interest by the on air talent in having this game continue tonight. Feels like the chances of this moving forward tonight is close to zero at this point.
Fox has a good problem to have right now as this World Cup Final is going to nuke their NFL pregame show, and has a small chance to run into actual NFL action itself.
Going to be interesting how they juggle post game trophy and where, if anywhere, NFL pregame airs.
We retweeted the Fox Sports PR tweet that post game will be on FS1 (is (currently simulcasting the game).
Haven’t seen NFL pregame anywhere and getting this in the app. You’ll just have to do without Terry Bradshaw this morning apparently
This is going to be so damn tight in terms of getting this Final can finish in 15 minutes. This is just absolutely wild
