He stole the money, from an escrow account, that was supposed to be used to buy 500,000 boxes of medical-grade latex gloves. Image

Elkay Plastics wired about $4.45 million into McKenna’s escrow account in early 2021
so the company could buy PPE during the height of the pandemic.

McKenna had agreed to hold the money until the gloves were shipped, but by April 2021, he had spent everything in the account. No gloves were ever delivered.
