The Wayne Township Board meeting started with the Pledge of Allegiance at 6:00 p.m. with an approved motion to accepting the meeting's agenda.
Firefighters health insurance will have some significant changes. Additional coverage will be given to pension firefighters. It is not in the budget but details are being worked out and will be moved forward.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) and Wayne Township Fire Department will be planning a community walk on July 25th at 10 a.m. The goal is to take a walk around the neighborhood and grill hotdogs on the grill afterwards.
Mackenzie Turner the Mayor's Neighborhood Advocate provided an update with construction with the Blue Line route for IndyGo. The project will not begin until August of this year. Turner provided flyers with further information for the board members about the Blue Line update.
The Wayne Township Office will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 25th.
Wayne Township Trustee Office for March Financials are up 29% on supplies due to the bus passes being bought for the entire year, but was advised that this will be balanced out. Overall, Wayne Township Trustee Office are on track with their budget.
Board Chair Bryan Chatfield moved the motion to accept the financials for the month of March.
Board Chair Chatfield inquired if the residents in Clermont taxes would increase with the Resolution 2026-05. The Board Chair was informed there would be no increase for the residents of Clermont with this new resolution. Motion was passed and moved by board members.
Board Chair Chatfield moved the motion to accept the amendments from April 9th, 2026. It was approved by the board members.

The Full Council Meeting started at 7 p.m. with council president Maggie A. Lewis from district 5 introduced councillor Brienne Delaney for the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and prayer.
Reverend Mindie Moore from St. Luke's Methodist Church introduced by councillor Delaney recited her prayer at the meeting.
