Not "besties."
Not "soulmates."
Not even "partners."
Just one word- Garments
Allah says:
“They are garments for you, and you are garments for them.”
(Qur’an 2:187)
One word.Libās.
And it carries a meaning most people miss
Allah didn’t choose the word libas randomly.
Because a garment is not just something you wear… it is is something that:
stays closest to you
protects you
covers you
and brings you comfort
That is what a spouse is meant to be.
A garment is the closest thing to your body. Not everyone gets that level of access.
Marriage in Islam is exclusive vulnerability.
There is zero distance between the fabric and the skin. Your spouse isn't just a "part" of your life. They are the immediate environment of your soul.
It is to be fully seen and still fully accepted.
A garment defines protection.
Your spouse is not just someone you love.
They are someone who:
guards your dignity
shields your imān
stands between you and harm
Love is a responsibility,We choose garments that make us feel dignified and comfortable
A garment defines mercy.
Clothes don’t expose what should be hidden.
Every scar, every blemish, every vulnerability is held in the private space between the skin and the fabric.
A spouse does not embarrass, expose, or weaponize your weaknesses, Instead, they cover it…the same way Allah covers our sins.
A garment defines growth.
Clothing beautifies. A spouse should elevate you:
in character
in deen
in your relationship with Allah
If the relationship isn’t bringing you closer to Him something is missing.
Garments can be removed.
And this is the part no one talks about. Just like clothes, if not cared for properly…
They can be taken off.
Which means:
neglect destroys intimacy
bad treatment has consequences
love must be maintained
Now be honest…
Are you a garment for your spouse?
Or are you:
someone who hurts them most often
someone who exposes their flaws
someone who makes home feel unsafe?
Marriage in Islam isn’t just living together.
It’s covering, warming, and staying close, just like Allah says.
"They are a garment for you and you are a garment for them."
Every letter here is intentional.

SubhanAllah… today I learned something that shifted my entire perspective.
In class, the ustadh asked:
“What is ibadah?”
Most of us answered:
“Salat, dhikr, Quran.”
He said: No
“No.Those are acts of ibadah.”
ibadah is to live for Allah…not just pray to Him.
I went home and realized something that broke me:
I don’t live for Allah. I only visit Him
I visit Him at Fajr… then disappear.
I stand before Him in ṣalāh then spend the rest of my day forgetting Him. I remember Him in hardship but rely on myself in ease.
When you sleep through this window consistently, it may disrupt your body clock and leave you:
• Foggy
• Emotionally drained
• Unmotivated
• Tired throughout the day
Allah does not need time. The One who says:
كُن فَيَكُونُ
“Be, and it is.”
(Surah Ya-Sin 36:82)
could create every galaxy instantly. Time itself is part of creation.
Before the sun, before the moon, before night and day…there was no “clock.”
So the six days were never about inability.
Allah says:
“They are garments for you, and you are garments for them.”
(Qur’an 2:187)

I started reciting Surah Al-Waqi‘ah every night. At first, I thought it was just about wealth. I imagined "instant success" and a life-changing financial breakthrough.
But what happened instead…Left me speechless.
Many Muslims have heard the narration about reciting Surah Al-Wāqi‘ah to protect from poverty.
So naturally, I expected financial blessings.
But the Surah did something far more powerful. It changed how I see life, death, and the Hereafter.
The Surah begins with absolute certainty:
“When the Inevitable Event occurs.” (56:1)
Not if. When.
The Qur’an does not debate whether the Day of Judgment will happen.
It declares it. It grounds you in the truth that the future is more real than the present.
