Though I’d followed and admired his work for years, I had but one opportunity to meet the venerable Robert Woodson. It was October 2022 at a @DL_Institute event in Atlanta, led by another pillar in the Black community who is sorely missed, Bishop Dean Nelson.
Mr. Woodson and I spoke of his work as well as the work of @ibsinow. He was kind and gracious with his time and wisdom, and gave tremendous insight that has greatly helped us personally and professionally. He was a wise father figure to all who came in contact with him, and his love for the Lord, his wife, his family, and his country were part of his core being.
We mourn his death and celebrate his life. Our prayers are with the family and everyone at the @WoodsonCenter. May God comfort and strengthen you during this time.

Precious in the sight of the LORD
is the death of his saints.
