Another stupid poem I wrote.
Enjoy! Or not.

I'm an oligarchic tech-bro with a psychopathic streak
If I wasn't rich beyond belief you'd all call me a freak
I surround myself with sycophants, all of whom I pay
To clap and nod and go along with everything I say.

I bought myself some politicians
They think they run the place
The truth is this - I pull the strings -
They all know their place.
I've convinced myself I'm really smart, and the evidence is clear
I don't think anything you say is worth my time to hear.

My A.I. thing is working hard to take your job away
So cut my grass and feed my kids while your world fades to grey.

If we allow privatisation of our single-payer health care system - it will lose the support and advocacy of the wealthy, who will switch to the private system.
Without the wealthy putting pressure on governments to properly fund it, the public system will be defunded & fail./1
We have lobbyists that tell us that privatization will be more "efficient", drop wait times, be more "available" and that it will be less expensive.
Less expensive to whom?
Don't be fooled into believing you'll be able to afford it. Unless you're wealthy already, you won't. /2
Privatisation is a sop to the insurance industry. Professional middle-men who, contrary to popular belief, are in the business of *not* paying claims but providing maximum shareholder value by keeping your premium & and paying it out as dividends.
They'll put premiums up./3
