When leftists claim a piece of entertainment that most people wouldn't find leftist is leftist, this is usually what they're doing.
Someone on here just a few days ago was claiming Backrooms is leftist because the protag (a black guy) is possessive & rapey.
Actually it was several someones. When I asked one of them if a movie with the sexes switched, a woman trying to control a man, would mean it was political in the opposite direction, I immediately got blocked.
Someone said that "the president was pals with Epstein" to argue that people who aren't leftists are pro-rape. I pointed out leftist Noam Chomsky and Democrat Bill Clinton were also pals with Epstein & did far less to distance themselves from him. No response.
When media analysis is just an insincere political power play for you, you probably won't have much interesting to say and won't entertain intelligent conversations.
This goes for both sides, of course, but the left is currently much worse about it.

Zero percent chance Edgar Allan Poe could get published today. Read up on how caustic he was towards other writers.
Trad publishing has become a high school clique. There’s very little concern with finding or promoting great stories and lots of concern for enforcing social rules and playing hall monitor.
I’ve also seen posts to the effect that editors won’t work with anyone who doesn’t have active social media accounts. So there’s a Soviet/CCP sort of "You’re not free to speak your mind, but you don’t have freedom of silence either” attitude. You have to either be in complete agreement with these people or fake a persona that you are.
