A daughter suspected her father of cheating on her mother. She managed to get his phone password, waited until he was asleep, then gave the phone to her mother. The mother thanked her, calmly locked the phone, and woke her husband.
She told him, “You need to change your
password because our daughter knows it.”
The father was disappointed in his daughter. The daughter, in turn, was disappointed in her mother. But the mother, feeling proud, looked at her daughter and said, “You see this man? I’ve known him for many years before
you were even born, and when you go to your husband’s house, I will still be the one with him. I will never search for anything that would make me see him differently from the good man I know him to be.”
What do you think of the mother’s response? Was she wise or naive?
