Dems can’t do anything about this because it is downstream from the law. The law created HR, and “HR ladies.” Employment law is vague. It was left to HR and the courts to figure it out. In effect it banned hiring for virtue, and mandated HR bureaucracy, diversity training, grievance panels and racial preferences. And Dems worship these laws.
This is also why I disagree somewhat with Andrews’ monocausal explanation of feminization. It downplays the role of the administrative state and the overall regime. Women would have different roles and impacts under a different regime.

The United States has higher social spending than Iceland, the UK, Australia, or Canada.

Despite this fact, many remain convinced the US is a capitalist hellscape. Why do you suppose this is? Image
America spends far *too much* on social programs, but Americans do not realize it, because the benefits primarily go to seniors, who are convinced they deserve them, and due to the depoliticization of government functions.

JP Morgan just released its 2024 "Sustainability Report." It is a useful indication of how companies are approaching ESG and DEI today.

JPM reports using climate scenarios from the "Network for Greening the Financial System."

Perhaps JPM is unaware that NGFS's modeling has come under fire from other academics, for using unrealistic climate scenarios, and faulty data from Uzbekistan.

More info on NGFS and the overall report in the🧵.

You can see the NGFS model, published in Nature here, as well as the author correction and multiple "Matters Arising."

Nature reports that, "Readers are alerted that the reliability of data and methodology presented in this manuscript is currently in question. Appropriate editorial action will be taken once this matter is resolved." nature.com/articles/s4158…
Here is Jessica Weinkle on the ongoing NGFS scandal. thebreakthrough.org/issues/energy/…

The decline of the American man. Image
I would have thought the home ownership piece would have been a stark decline, but in fact it’s about flat. Still it’s a bleak picture overall for American men. Image

Obviously these things are all complicated and there are errors and nuances in the data. But you can make a very empirical case for American decline if you look just a little beyond GDP. And to be clear none of this is good for women, either.

Even if fire and police departments got rid of DEI, it’s illegal for them to enforce basic fitness and competence standards. Image

One way DOGE and MAHA should work is a national recovery of rigorous fitness, writing, reading and math tests across local, state and federal government employeees.

They’ll need to end disparate impact to do so.

Arithmetic, grammar, spelling and push-ups are not racism. It shouldn’t be illegal to require all public employees to meet suitable and general standards.

Europe is closing factories due to high energy costs and ESG regulations. This doesn’t help the environment because companies just move production elsewhere. And causes massive economic and national security losses.

The best way to understand the global rise of populism is that it’s an emergent awareness that establishment parties have a death wish.

It’s not just that secular humanism leads to lows birth rates but that it neuters the drives for power and profit that enable national sovereignty, prosperity and technological progress. It substitutes stakeholder consultations and paperwork for political and business judgement. Image

The reluctance of solar boosters to attribute anything to the Inflation Reduction Act continues to amaze.
Solar just works and we need 300 billion, sorry I mean 2 trillion in subsidies over the next few decades to keep it working.

If we got the tax credits for gym bros bill passed and there was a large increase in barbell purchases I would take credit for it. I wouldn’t pretend like barbells were just inherently superior to all other forms of resistance for all purposes
