Tonight, New York's mayor proved he's emerging as one of the most powerful politicians in the Democratic Party — and used it to purge his own party's incumbents.
Three House primaries in New York. Two DSA members.
A mayor with no race of his own on the ballot used his office to take out three sitting Democrats who wouldn’t move further left.
The sharpest result isn't even the most radical one — it's two Jewish progressives fighting over how far is too far on Gaza, and the one running to the left of a Trump impeachment manager won.
I registered Democrat at 18. Voted for McGovern in '72. I've watched a party get taken over before. Tonight it happened again.

1/ There is protest.
There is dissent.
And then there is desecration.
On April 11, the 81st anniversary of Buchenwald’s liberation, anti-Israel activists plan a keffiyeh protest at the site where 56,000 were murdered by the Nazis.
Some lines should not be crossed.
2/ The protest—organized under the banner “Kufiyas in Buchenwald”—objects to the memorial’s decision to ban Palestinian symbols, including the keffiyeh, during commemorations.
They call it "genocide denial" and demand Gaza be addressed at the site and that the ban be lifted.
3/ Let us be clear about what Buchenwald is.
It is not a university quad.
It is not a public square.
It is a former Nazi concentration camp — a factory of industrialized death.
