The most disciplined Muslims you know aren't more motivated than you.
They just do these 5 Habits consistently:
1. Identify your Nafs triggers
Track for 7 days:
When does my Nafs win? What does it whisper?
Patterns will emerge:
"Just 5 more minutes" (Fajr battle)
"Just one video" (scrolling trap)
"Start tomorrow" (procrastination loop)
You'll find a ton of them.
Once you see the patterns, you can intercept them.
2. Build systems that do not require motivation
Motivation is a feeling that lasts 3 days max.
You need something that works when you feel nothing.
Therefore, build SYSTEMS:
-Phone locked away at night
-Prayer-anchored daily structure
-Non-negotiable Fajr alarm across the room
-A solid routine so you don't constantly decide what to do next
Systems remove the decision fatigue.
Your nafs can't negotiate with a system.
3. Redesign your environment
Willpower is limited.
But +ve environment is constant.
I made discipline the path of least resistance:
-Strict time limit for social media apps
-Quran app on my home screen
-Stopped buying unhealthy food
-Work desk cleared of all distractions
When your environment supports your goals, your nafs has fewer weapons to use against you.
4. Anchor everything around Salah
This was the game-changer for me.
And I'm yet to meet a successful Muslim who doesn't do this.
Stop trying to "fit prayer into the schedule." Build your schedule AROUND the five prayers.
Each salah becomes a reset.
A moment to reconnect with Creator.
A source of barakah for the hours around it.
Step 5. Track your progress daily
Create a simple tracker:
-Did I win the Fajr battle?
-Did I do my deep work?
-Did I control my nafs today?
Every small win = XP gained.
Every day consistent = streak building.
Every loss= shaytan & your Nafs winning.
Tracking makes invisible progress visible.
And seeing progress will keep you going.

The Prophet ﷺ said something about your morning that most Muslims completely ignore.
He taught specific words to say in the morning that carry immense reward, forgiveness, and protection.
And they take only a few minutes.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever says in the morning:
La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu, wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadir
10 times…
Allah will write for him 10 good deeds, erase 10 sins, raise him 10 degrees, and it will be as though he had freed four slaves from the descendants of Isma’il.
We always think the evil eye (’ayn) is just someone being jealous of your new car or job.
It isn’t.
It’s far more serious than most people realize.
The Prophet ﷺ revealed a reality about the evil eye that every Muslim should know.
He ﷺ said:
“The evil eye is true, and if anything could precede the divine decree, it would be the evil eye.”
(Sahih Muslim 2188)
This doesn’t mean the evil eye overrides Allah’s decree. Nothing can. Rather, it emphasizes how serious and powerful its effects can be, all within Allah’s perfect decree.
The Prophet ﷺ : Whoever sleeps while having a "ghamar" in his hand and does not wash it, if something befalls him, let him not blame anyone but himself.
What is the meaning of "ghamar"??
In this hadith, “ghamar” refers to the greasy smell or residue left on the hands after eating, especially from meat or fatty foods.
The Prophet ﷺ was teaching cleanliness and hygiene, meaning a person should wash their hands properly before sleeping. Otherwise, leftover food smell or grease could attract insects or cause harm.
