Texas: Islamic Academy Acquires Baptist Church Near EPIC City After Hostile Lawsuit, Plans to Erect Dawah Seminary

Salahuddin Future Academy (SAFA) operates under the Authentic Ilm Mission. The church later tried to contest the deal with SAFA on the grounds that its pastor didn’t “realize he was signing a sales contract,” and “lacked authorization from church leadership.” The signing pastor was evidently clueless about what he was getting into and/or he did not read between the lines. This case is not a simple business acquisition of property. Indeed, it was legal, but it also ended up being a hostile takeover by one cleverly run religious institution over another naively run one. Historically, “friendly” Muslim dialogue with Christians that invites the latter to trust, embrace and learn about Islam is just a utilitarian path to dawah.
The case of Salahuddin Future Academy and the Korean World Mission Baptist Church is a model exhibit of what Islamic dawah encompasses. First comes the smile. Then comes the snarl.
