I've taken a breath, and am now at about 2 minutes to midnight on the atomic clock. Yesterday, I was at about 2 seconds to midnight. So I thought I would take a few minutes to answer some of the common incorrect threads about the #GOPTaxScam. Thread.
In response to my tweets about healthcare, many people have said "Nobody will lose healthcare because of this tax bill." You're wrong, and here's how:
Projected spending on Medicaid will drop between $1.1 and $1.6 trillion dollars depending on the estimate over the next ten years based on the bill's projections. Or, more than $100 Billion per year under the most conservative estimates.
There are two potential outcomes from this, both result in people losing access to healthcare:

1. The difference is made up by reducing the number of people on Medicaid, taking away insurance from millions every year.

OR
2. Payments to providers will be reduced. This will shrink the Medicaid network and reduce the ability of people to access healthcare.

So yes, before the @GOP's further promised attacks on #Medicaid coming in 2018, this will take healthcare from millions.
Next, many people said "Giving people their money back is not stealing from you. You have been stealing from them.

Okay, just typing that, I am back at a minute to midnight.
This tax cut does give most of the money to the wealthiest Americans. You say that is letting them just keep their money. EXCEPT:

The wealthiest americans-the fabeled 1%- hold ~FORTY percent of the nation;s wealth.
Because of growing income inequality, the average American household made morethan $17,000 LESS than projections.

Even more troubling, since 1973, worker productivity has become 243% of what it was. Wages are only 108%. WE are being paid LESS for the work we do.

At the same time, wage growth for the top 1% - who reap the lion's share of the tax cut, has been 138% since 1980. Wage growth for the bottom 90% has been 15%.

#GOPTaxScam
Simply put, the wealthiest Americans have been stealing from the rest of us for fifty years. They are paying us less for more work, and paying themselves more.
So: Social programs like Medicaid and Medicare and yes, progressive income taxes to fund these which make the wealthiest pay more have been necessary BECAUSE the wealthiest do not distribute the wealth in the form of fair and growing wages.
Therefore, the #GOPTaxScam IS stealing from us.

Imagine your bank was being robbed, and your account was wiped out. As the robbers run past, you reach out and grab a handful of the cash they have stolen.

The Tax Scam takes that money and gives it back to the robbers.
