So far, I found a Lockheed Martin Hits Program location 20 minutes from the center of Taylor. "Lockheed Martin looks forward to working with Electronic Data Systems to seamlessly deliver information technology services to HUD under the HITS program". Still searching...
Here is an article on it from 2005: gcn.com/articles/2005/…
This is kinda funny and cool and interesting. Just stumbled across this while researching. Seems to be a lot of action in Michigan. That, or a lot of false reports. nuforc.org/webreports/ndx…
I just went down a very interesting rabbit hole. Aerial map google to Taylor - see Fighting Island on the river? It is technically Canadian, and It's owned by BASF. We could go down many rabbit holes with BASF: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BASF
BASF supposedly cleaned this island up after years of chemicals being dumped there... and it's used to teach elementary/secondary schools about biology and ecology. HMMMMMMM. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fighting_…
Interesting article on bodies found floating by Fighting Island and missing persons, unidentified bodies, etc. mlive.com/news/detroit/i…
Alright, I'm digging into this more later. There is NO WAY IN HELL BASF (the biggest chemical co) would purchase a chemically infested island to clean it up and teach kids about agriculture! This is likely where they take them, and THAT is their cover story. Speculation for now.
Okay, so I didn't want to just leave this hanging, as I did do a lot of digging, but it took me down several different rabbit holes, none of which create a solid case with this odd laser image, but interesting finds on why Taylor may be an important place.
2) Obviously I got very tied up with the memo release and the government shutdown, so I am just now getting back to this. So Taylor, MI seems to attract a fair amount of visits from past President's. I cannot say with certainty why this is, but I will share my finds...
3) Here is a map indicating where Taylor, MI is, which is where the laser image hit and then a couple hours later a meteor hit in the same vicinity. Taylor is at the top left. Notice the island to the right called Fighting Island, which technically falls in Canadian territory.
BASF is the largest chemical company in the world. They decided to purchase this island, clean up the old waste (it was a dumping site), and create a program used to teach elementary/secondary schools about biology and ecology. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fighting_…
BUT, you are not allowed on the island unless you are INVITED.
They did such a fine job of cleaning up and rebuilding this island, they were Certified Gold by the Wildlife Habitat Council. Despite being the largest chemical company, their websites & info focus on their conservation efforts.

So I looked into this arrangement they have with Greater Essex County District School Board. If you google it with Fighting Island, you get this blank page. There is no Fighting Island tab to click on anywhere in their site that I could find.

However, I did a keyword search in their site and was able to find a few schools who have booked field trips with them. It would appear they do (on avg) 2-4 day trips per year. So it is legit, but minimal at best. Here is an example field trip:
Gov. Rick Snyder is the sixth governor to issue an Open Investment Policy statement at the state level and the first to issue in Michigan history - and he did so at BASF's Michigan facility (across the river from Fighting Island).

BASF Corp. - largest affiliate of BASF SE, HQ in Germany, and the 2nd largest producer and marketer of chemicals and related products in North America. They employ more than 17,500 workers at 154 locations in the U.S. More than 2,000 people work at nine locations across MI.
They also operate the largest supercomputer for industrial chemical research, called Quriosity.

They also have been involved with tunnels for 100 yrs: "BASF, under the Master Builders Solutions brand, is the leading supplier of product solutions focused on our customers' needs in the tunneling industry. With more than 100 years of experience..."

They have also been involved with the Red Cross in Haiti, as well as Puerto Rico cleanup and multiple other countries. They seem to get quite involved with disaster clean-ups.

Obama traveled to Macomb Community College in Warren, MI for his 17th time on Sept. 9, 2015 to announce $175 million in apprenticeship grants. Warren is 35 minutes from Taylor area. Just showing the trail - not saying this has significance.

Lastly, as I stated in the original thread, there have been 4-5 mysterious dead bodies turning up by Fighting Island. Could be a coincidence. Just laying out all of the details I have found pertaining to the area of Taylor, MI and what the attraction may be there.
Final side note: I did do a quick search in wikileaks - there are a LOT of files pertaining to BASF. I'm sure with good reason, being as they are the largest chemical company in the world. I have not had time to review, but I would speculate possible pay-to-play action.
