1.Alexander Kogan a #CambridgeUniversity academic, who orchestrated harvesting #Facebook data, is tied to a #Russian University and had grants for researching into social media networks.
2.Alexander Kogan harvested the data in cooperation with #CambridgeAnalytica.
3.#CambridgeAnalytica has held talks with big russian companies, perhaps the largest being #Russian #Energy firm Lukoil, who has clear and undeniable close ties to the #Kremlin and #Putin
4.Lukoil is under #USA sanctions and is currently on the #USA Sanctions list.

10.Back to Alexander Kogan,at the same time he was helping to turn #Facebook profiles into a political tool he was an associate professor at S:t Petersburg State University, took #Russian Government grants to fund research into Social Media.
11.#Russia is not mentioned in a 10-page CV #Kogan posted on a university website in 2015. The CV lists undergraduate prizes and grants of a few thousand dollars and links to dozens of media interviews.
12.A native Russian speaker, Kogan was born in #Moldova and brought up in #Moscow until he was seven, when his family emigrated to the #USA , where he later obtained citizenship.

14.These contacts took place as #CambridgeAnalytica was building a roster of #Republican clients in the #UnitedStates — and harvesting #Facebook profiles of over 50 million users to develop tools to analyze voters’ behavior.
15.#CambridgeAnalytica included extensive questions about #Putin, in surveys it was carrying out in #American focus groups in 2014, asking for views on topics ranging from #Putin’s popularity to #Russian expansionism.
