/ The US govt says that any country that uses chemical weapons must be punished by the international community. Considering the modern history of the US using CWs against civilians, one has to consider that the entire rationale for attacking Syria might just be a lie.
/ The US has used depleted uranium on Iraq, Syria, & Yugoslavia.

DU dust causes cancer & horrific birth defects, & as it’s in the soil & water, will do so for generations.
/ The US has used white phosphorus on civilians in Iraq & Syria, and supplied it for KSA to drop on Yemeni civilians.

“It’s only used as a smokescreen”? No. It’s killed civilians. nytimes.com/2017/06/10/wor…

/ WaPo notes that General Dynamics has exclusive rights to manufacture the white phosphorus round shown in their article. 57 Congressional mbrs received donations from GD in 2018 of 5K or more, & 7 own stock in it. opensecrets.org/orgs/recips.ph…
/ GD also manufactures bombs, artillery, & various other weaponry being used in US conflicts today. This is just one example of how US politicians profit from war. Many others own stock in or receive donations from other arms manufacturers as well.
/ A country who's used CWs/WMDs against a number of civilian populations in the very recent past does not have the moral authority to depose a leader for accusations of doing the same. Further, when that country's leaders profit from war, how can they be trusted to act justly?
/ opensecrets.org/industries/sum… Note that Graham, who’s raked in almost 90K from the weapons industry so far in 2018, is one of the loudest voices in the Senate calling not just for overthrow of Assad, but his assassination. This would mean Al-Quaeda will take the reigns in Syria.
/ This is course would be used by the US will use as justification to wage war in Syria for years to come. Look at what 17 years in Afghanistan has gotten us. Here’s more on the weapons industry padding Graham’s bank account. theintercept.com/2015/07/30/sen…
/ / Marco Rubio is another voice demanding war escalation and that we “punish” the “criminal” Assad. Like Graham, he's been silent on the above US crimes against humanity. He does, however, profit handsomely from the war industry. The Intercept notes: theintercept.com/2016/01/31/rub…
/ “Guilty until proven innocent” is a dangerous game to play in international politics, particularly when so many lives are at stake. I have serious questions about Assad’s guilt, considering the only ones who have anything to gain from a chemical attack are the jihadists.
/ It seems unthinkable that a nation like the United States would fund terrorism (which breaks our own as well as international law, to my understanding).
/ But it’s been happening for years, and the “Stop Arming Terrorists” bills introduced in the House & Senate by Tulsi Gabbard & Rand Paul were quickly shelved. Only 14 in the House co-sponsored Gabbard's bill, and not one Senator was willing to co-sponsor Paul’s bill.
/ We Americans are not good at learning from the past. Vietnam was based on lies. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
/ The first Iraq war was based on lies. billmoyers.com/2014/06/27/the…
/ The second Iraq War was based on lies dw.com/en/the-iraq-wa…
/ Our attack on Libya was based on lies and has plunged that country into absolute chaos, after having had the highest standard of living in Africa. There are open air slave markets there now. salon.com/2016/09/16/u-k…
/ If you think it’s not possible that you’re being lied to about Syria, consider the main source of info about the war for both government and media– US/Saudi/Qatar etc funded jihadists. Consider what they have to gain if Assad is overthrown.
/18 Consider what the US govt has to gain as well. Consider #GenieOil & what it would mean for them financially if Israel were able to keep the oil rich #GolanHeights it annexed from Syria in 1967. Consider also the building of a long awaited pipeline.
