37. Rome’s Chance by Joanna Wylde. 2nd chance-ish Dental Hygienist heroine, hero is not going to miss his moment. My night was weirdly emotional/drama filled offline tonight, so I don’t have a lot of perspective but it held my interest when I really needed the distraction.
38. Fire Touched by Patricia Briggs (audio: Lorelei King) I’d originally skipped this one because none of my libraries had it. But it was fantastic, & I understand why Silence Fallen felt like a let down to some Great relationship/pack/family dynamics #bkbrk
39. Peter Darling by Austin Chant Peter returns to Neverland after spending 10 years living as Wendy again for the sake of his family. But Neverland is not the same or too much the same. The romance was beautiful, gentle & exhilarating. Just fabulous. amzn.to/2jejNM2
40. Steel’s Edge by Ilona Andrews A healer’s self-imposed exile in the Edge comes to an abrupt end when her found family/home is destroyed by Slavers hunting for the man she healed. Emotionally wrenching, Epilogue is so necessary #bkbrk #audiobook amzn.to/2IofEjR
41. Rock Chick Revolution (e & audio) Ally & Ren’s story was super meta & not just because KA introduced a fictional KA & RC books but because Ally is so aware of the “Rock Chick/Hot Bunch” relationship dynamics/trajectory. However I still liked it because of Ren subverting them
42. Duke by Default by Alyssa Cole Portia upends Tavish’s life when she arrives as his Scottish Armory to be his apprentice. Age-gap, cross-class,completely charming & fun. Portia has undiagnosed ADHD, problem drinker. Hero grumpy, child of refugee (7/31) amzn.to/2GUBeL7
43. The Cybernetic Tea Shop by Meredith Katz. #RomBkLove rec D17 STEM.(f/f ace)Globe-trotting AI-mechanic Clara falls for Sal, a Tea-shop running robot, one of the last of her kind.Emotional story about grief, trust, routines & new beginnings. #ttr #bkbrk amzn.to/2JlNjhF
44. Shadow of Doubt by Linda Poitvien. (ARC, 5/10) RomSuspense. Started out promising but too much of the emotional conflict was the MCs arguing if it was too risky for the RCMP heroine to keep helping the framed DEA agent hero on the run. #ttr #bkbrk amzn.to/2kLgY5Y
45. Archangel’s Kiss by Nalini Singh. The gore & violence in this series is just hard sometimes. But I live for the downtime scenes which is probably why I’ve read all the Novellas but not the books! But gift knife scenes was do great. & I did start book 3. #bkbrk #rombklove
46. Resort to Love by Priscilla Oliveras. Ex-lovers have a fraught reunion when they discover they have rivals bids for the resort they first met at. Good tension, great family/friends, emotional. #latinxrom Full review @LoveinPanels soon. #bkbrk amzn.to/2xXcUsZ
47. Archangel’s Consort by Nalini Singh (audio) This was hard to listen to this past week as a lot of the story is Elena dealing with her memories of & anger about her mother’s death. I still don’t like Raphael. Or how toxic her family is. Eager to switch to other leads. #bkbrk
48. Therese Beharrie ‘s Suprise Baby, Second Chance (eARC, 8/7) forced-proximity, SAfrican-set m/f. Rosa left their seemingly happy marriage without a word & their near reconciliation has consequences.Strong emotional conflict as they face their anxieties amzn.to/2Mjq71r
49. C.S. Harris, When Gods Die (Sebastian St.Cyr Mystery), narrated by Davina Porter. m/f mystery, with romantic elements. Sebastian is growing as a detective and I love supporting characters such as Kat and Tom while I marvel at Sebastian's casually large body count. #bkbrk
50. Diablo Lake : Proctected. The magic of a supernatural town is decaying because of strife between factions of wolves, cats & witches. New leaders emerge but not everyone is ready to accept change. Great mutually caretaking Empath/warrior pair. Great female friendship #bkbrk
51. Iron & Magic by Ilona Andrews MoC, enemies to lovers. The exiled alcoholic ex-Warlord buys a home for his hunted Iron Dogs by agreeing to marry the mysterious Lady Elara, whose witchy powers are more dangerous he can comprehend. Lots of great banter, tension & suspense #bkbrk
52. Taking Chase by Lauren Dane. Love the heroine, who knew herself and her boundaries. Still hated the hero because too often he put his bossy feelings ahead of hers. He learns but I was skimming by then.
53. Making Chase by Lauren Dane. I accidentally skipped book 3 but I finally loved a hero in this series because he takes it slow. Still too much female jealousy from random exes but I loved Tate & her clan and how the relationship developed. #bkbrk
54. Chased by Lauren Dane (book 3). Marc is the youngest Chase & has fallen for his older brother’s ex Liv. She wants forever & it takes a lot convince her that despite their 5 yr age difference that he is serious about her enough to risk her heart #bkbrk good hero-in-pursuit
55. Destiny’s Embrace by Beverly Jenkins: Mariah leaves her abusive mother & poor prospects in Philly for a Housekeeping job for determined Bachelor & stubborn Rancher, Logan Loved their fiery romance & his fairy-godmother like step-mother Alanza #bkbrk amzn.to/2N4qX2A
56. Conspiracy of Whispers by Ada Harper. (SFR) I adored this! Queer found family, cross-class, enemies to lovers. Hero falls hard and fast, heroine is in deep denial. I highlighted so many lines that were just so much swoon. 2nd book will f/f!! #bkbrk amzn.to/2u89CyE
57. Thirsty by Mia Hopkins: ex-con, Good girl, friends-with-benefits, hero POV only. Sal anxiety was intense & I got stuck halfway through because of the large emotions. He struggles so much to reach for something better. Feels so trapped by his past mistakes. #bkbrk
