We just had suicide prevention training at work and this is definitely something that needs improving.

Most Navy mandated training is not effective at all for dealing with issues, don't even get me started on how they handle sexual assault prevention training.

(Thread)
This training was led by a civilian but that doesn't guarantee any level of expertise. I honestly started falling asleep until she mentioned methods of "preventative medicine"

This piqued my interest, as I thought of @RationalMale book 2.

So I listened to what she had to say.
She began reading off case scenarios of recent issues with suicidal ideations in the navy and i noticed something weird.

EVERY scenario was a male victim and what was the catalyst? An unfaithful wife/girlfriend/trouble dealing with women.

Interesting...
There was a financial aspect to it but that was mainly female centric.

An example included a married guy going on a long deployment and allowing his wife full access to his finances.

Which led to her spending all his paychecks and cheating on him, hence the suicidal thoughts.
I have a really hard time keeping my mouth shut when hearing some bullshit, especially at work. Yet I can't speak my entire mind with free reign so I just sat there quietly when she asked for audience comments.

One example was so ludicrous though I had to say something.
It went something like this- a married guy was on a fast career track to be a successful officer and had the opportunity to take orders to a prestigious command.

However, his wife demanded he reject those orders. Why? Moving there wouldn't be good for HER career goals.
What did this guy do? You guessed it, he gave up his goals and said (she literally quoted this in the case scenario) "I don't want to lose my soulmate"

Some girls in the audience said "aweeee" while I let out a noticeable groan to some puzzled looks around me.
So, the guy stagnated in his career while she progressed. Then they had a kid and the poor guy discovered she cheated, stole his money, and it wasn't his kid.

This would make anyone snap and think of suicide. The lady asked for audience comments on the "underlying issue here"
A couple people raised their hands and brought up how the navy should be more understanding of families and the "feelings of spouses" and allow flexibility of choosing career orders to accommodate this.

These comments weren't addressing the real issue and I had to fix that.
So, I raised my hand and spoke up. The gist of what I said was-

"I think the real issue here is that this guy gave up his ambitions for his wife, b/c she undoubtedly lost respect for him after this. You shouldn't give up your life for your girl, even if she's your "soulmate"
Man, I wish I could have recorded the audiences reaction😂

There were only about 150 people in there but aside from a couple friends or so who know some red pill truths the majority of them looked at me as though I was an alien speaking nonsense.
The lady was like "oh, well that's an interesting viewpoint, but I'm not sure if it's the actual cause of his suicidal thoughts"

I was extremely tempted to say-

"A woman should only ever be the complement to a mans life, never the focus of it"

Credit that to @RationalMale
But I figured I had stirred up enough tension already.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if I get counseled about this.

What's funny is a lot of women in there were eyeing me with interested looks after I spoke while a couple guys were giving me some serious stink eye.

I wonder why
