I was reminded this morning of one of the most surreal experiences of my life.
When I was 14 I was travelling from Ireland to the Isle of Wight. I was not used to travelling without my family. As we changed trains in bustling, overwhelming Euston Station, I went to the bathroom.
The bathroom was full of chattering women. I went into a stall and then there was a lot of screaming outside. I was terrified. I didn't know what was going on. I thought perhaps someone had come into the bathroom with a knife. A woman hammered on my stall door and shouted at me.

OK, here’s a little thread about work.
Before I worked in games, I was a manager at Google and Facebook - responsible for teams, people and large-scale projects.
I learned a lot about work & what I believe it is to be a good worker.
So when I talk to my students now, it upsets me hugely to see the ways in which the education system fails young people.
We teach them how to use specific software, how to write a CV, etc.
But we do not teach them what it is to be a good worker, a good team member.
