You may have noticed some commotion and drama on Bitcoin Twitter this week.

At face value this would appear to be the result of the actions of a few individuals on twitter and at a conference that's just passed, but in reality the causes are much deeper than this. 🧵 👇 Image For many years bitcoin was a small nerdish subculture, a collection of geeks who participated in the social element- meetups, online dialog, conferences because they were fascinated with bitcoin itself- the technology & to a lesser degree the asset & it's economic implications

Over the past few months & in particular after sharing this tweet earlier Ive had a few people message me that are considering moving to Mexico or at least visiting for an extended period.

I figured it would be helpful to write a short thread on whats involved and my experience The vast majority of western countries are able to enter mexico as a tourist and obtain a visa to stay for up to 180 days (I have never heard of any first time visitors receiving less) visatraveler.com/visa-guides/me…

Here is a thread on my findings The two hostile environments I wanted to test- could txtenna be a solution in a prison or simmilar situation where communication is denied and could it be a useful tool for IP obfuscation/bypassing ISPs or Cell Network providers denying access to the bitcoin network

Over the weekend I sent a bitcoin transaction to a relay 12.6km away with no cell network or internet connection. Here's a tweetstorm about how I used @gotenna and @SamouraiWallet to do it My original objective was to see if I could use the 4 gotennas that I have to send a transaction 19.2km. Gotenna gives the maximum range in open environments as 6.4 km gotenna.com/pages/faqs-got…
