I don’t like this notion that ‘people are tired of civilization.’ It’s possible tha some of that is true, but there are also a very large number of direct material reasons why young people think it’s okay to hurt people in the interests of spurious left-wing political causes.

I was a man-slut in college and the years after, then I moved overseas and did the sex tourism thing in Latin America and Asia for years. it’s not worth it. sex isn’t that important. If I could go back I would’ve wifed up my senior year of college girlfriend.

After traveling half a dozen US cities and a dozen other small towns in the past month, I can confirm that Burlington, VT has the single worst homeless situation I have ever personally witnessed anywhere in the world. The entire eight-block square of the ‘idyllic tourist-friendly downtown’ is festooned with them. There have to be 500 or so, every single side of every single block has at least one or two, or normally a small group.

I don’t think there’s nearly enough coherent analysis on the fact that digital technology is doing to western liberalism what the printing press did to establishment monarchism. In fact, digital technology is far greater in magnitude because it combines both the economic upheavals of the industrial revolution with the massive social change facilitated by a 1000x bandwidth/speed increase in communication.

I am someone who generally (compared to many people on here at least) holds stable, rules-based liberal governance in high regard.

That all being said, I am not sure exactly what the American left believed would happen (wrt trials/habeas corpus) as a result of mass immigration. It was entirely predictable that an excess quantity of migrants being permitted to enter the United States (and europe, as this plays out there as well) would lead to a backlash. If the laws do not allow that backlash to organically occur, the laws will be ignored.

David Hogg getting removed today is double proof of this. It’s critical to understand that the democratic coalition is fundamentally unstable - there is no room for real reform in line with voters interests.

The DNC is built around paying off large numbers of special interest groups that each form a key part of their ‘core coalition’. Teachers unions, far left immigration advocates, etc. - these are fundamentally paid off groups.

“China’s economy rose on the back of America’s” is an erroneous take. American investment and manufacturing played a critical role in its development in Phase I and II (1990-2015) but by the early 2010s America’s consumer market was completely saturated. China’s exports to the developing world have continued to tier-up because the American consumer can literally not purchase enough stuff any more for China to grow. We’re at our limit.

there are two possibilities for a modern world where we don’t win:
A) slow collapse under unstoppable tide of dysgenics

B) reduction of humanity to a population of what are effectively ants the former could lead to a revival down the line. it could also lead to humans lacking a source of energy available enough to power us off this world, leading to our extinction sometime down the line.

if we lived in a sane civilization right now you (as a 120+ IQ white male in his early 20s) would have your pick of jobs in geoengineering, nuclear power, space logistics, or public aesthetic curation right now. if you so wished, you would be able to rent a top-tier apartment in a gorgeous, aesthetically designed downtown in a major city surrounded by museums, art galleries, nouveau-performance spaces, and all manner of other delights. there would be virtually no crime.
