I think we'd all be better off if we internalized the fact that

- Shitty, inflammatory takes are literally part of multiple peoples' business/promotion strategies, they RELY on those QT dunks for dissemination

- Bluechecks are literally monetizing fighting w/you. The simple fact is, hate, scare tactics, and outrage are quick clicks, and that's been utterly exploited by sociopaths that genuinely couldn't care less either way about ANY situation they're in, as long as they can stir the pot and make ppl mad for attention.

Nah, they're still hella pissed I married a white guy. We don't talk; they're upset the marriage didn't fail and they never got to gloat. The difference between my husband's family & mine was like wow. Matt's INSISTED on getting us presents even tho we didn't ask for anything, & held a surprise reception in their hotel. In my grandparents' free-roaming farm flock, they were quick to slaughter and cook any rooster who lost his status as king of the flock to a younger, stronger male.

It took me years to realize that was actually a mercy. Rosters run hard and flame out like nitrous-injected funnycars; they're actual physical wrecks after a year or three of being the dominant male.

If you don't eat them, the flock will. Just a lot more slowly.

She described herself as a writer in her bio.

I @'ed her and it was blanked in hours. She wasn't masquerading as me, she was PLAGIARIZING me. And it was tweets about stuff I was watching on YouTube, and books I was reading, and meals I'd eaten. Copied word for word.

FUN FACT (fun now that I have some distance from it, anyway): I got mine because I had a period years back where someone decided their big move was gonna be to strongly imply THEY were the ones who decided what does and doesn't get published at ICC. Srsly. I'm nearly a Minecraft ground-floorer—I got my copy by sending money direct to Notch's Paypal. And even back then, it was clear the "It's like LEGO, but your block supply is endless" aspect was huge.

It's not hard to let people be creative. But it's also not profitable. I sound like a loon talking about it, but I've been around awhile? And I remember when news blogs that covered convention cosplay slowly shifted away from "look at this incredible, high-effort, original creation" and towards "Spiderman onesie from Spirit Halloween."
