We have been amazed at the bravery of Australian detransitioners this week in sharing their stories and seeking to protect others from similar medical harms. We hope such stories will encourage conversations around how gender ideology uniquely impacts LGB youth.

Detrans lesbian Jay Langadinos is suing her former psychiatrist for professional negligence after hormone & surgical treatments for dysphoria. Other factors weren't considered. She "has suffered and continues to suffer from injuries and disabilities”. 2/7
We unequivocally support trans & gender diverse peoples’ right to hold trans-only events at the exclusion of all others. However, we note it has been deemed discriminatory in Australia for LGB people to hold same-sex only events; events exclusively for lesbians or gay men.

We find this unfair and hypocritical.
This was highlighted recently in Tasmania where a lesbian had an application for a lesbian-only event rejected by the anti-discrimination commissioner. The outcome of this decision is homophobic and discrimination against LGB people.

🧵We don’t endorse a queer theory reframing of #bisexuality as being “an attraction to two or more genders”; this definition in too ambiguous as to be meaningless. People aren’t attracted to a subjective concept like gender, they are attracted to others based on their sex.1/4
Only recently the identity of bisexuality was considered transphobic by some, leading to the microlabel pansexual. Innate sexuality is not bigotry. There are many bisexuals who feel unrepresented by organisations that define their sexuality as based on gender as opposed to sex./2
