nobody ever told me that this sort of thing could come alive

You should give in and schizopost. By keeping it together and trying to stay "reasonable" you're actually just training yourself in how to excuse a plainly obvious crime. I shouldn't be coming here to put random people on blast but this is an example of what I was taking about in that other thread. People aren't failing to get the facts, they're getting the facts and peer-to-peer learning new techniques for excusing those facts in real time.

What kind of society would let this happen? Probably the same one that felt it was "necessary" to force people die to alone in hospitals while their families watched on an ipad. This was a test. Will parents, willing to risk their lives to save their children from death, stand down because a cop told them, or will they actually see the cop as intrinsically the same threat as the "school shooter."

The cops aren't incompetent and they aren't cowards. They want the massacre to happen and they will use force to stop anyone from disrupting the massacre. Thousands of comments on these videos but the taboo against describing what you're actually seeing is too strong. What you're actually seeing is the cops actively taking the side of the shooter.

Do you think that main character discourse on here is something that's being actively manipulated to push certain narratives, or it's still something that the behaviorists at Twitter HQ are passively observing like an ant farm? Like most of this "big data" stuff it's just alot of aggregation and summarization (map/reduce) of tons of and tons of similar data objects. You just need lots of parallel processing horesepower.

Love how if you post "the CIA has a perfected egg detector technology" you'll get a hundred people in your mentions calling you a transphobe. One of the things about letting it all hang out as a kid online is that the cops know you're queer before you do. If they want to use that information to manipulate you, they will. If they want to use it to hurt you, they will.

so wait "motherhood" is the "femme labor paradigm" now? How does a person admit they know nothing about teens and then get a job writing for Teen Vogue?

(i mean i know how but this kind of sloppy casting breaks the suspension of disbelief)

this conflict isn't even a week old and people are acting like we're on day 900 of the siege of Leningrad
if you're old enough to remember 2017 there was a city in Syria that held out for 3 years against ISIS

People have such a metaphysical understanding of "truth" as if once a secret fact becomes known to one person, it's instantly known to everyone and everyone automatically updates all prior assumptions, re-orients all narratives and changes all plans and polices in response to it. "Truth" is a social phenomenon and a product of social labor.

Last year, when the vaccinations first started I was worried about them causing antibody dependent enhancement (ADE) in regular seasonal cold and flu but it looks like instead they're just boosting 1 antibody for a coronavirus at the cost of wrecking your immune system overall. So if you get the shot you're gambling with acute tissue damage that can be fatal if it concentrates in the heart plus chronic long term immune dysfunction which you will never recover from if you're mandated to get the shots seasonally for the rest of your life.

it would be very wrong to live this way. what you'd actually be doing is opening your self up to new forms of liability and criminalization, for dubious public health benefit. if you want to constantly test yourself for diseases that you don't have then go for it (but think about the capacity of the healthcare system to handle those wasted tests) but you can't make "feeling fine" a crime.

My public health measure for ending waterborne diseases is I'm going to mandate that everyone poop in a bucket and carry the bucket of poop to a lab so it can be tested for bugs. If you just poop in a toilet and flush it you could be spreading parasites. It's everyone's responsibility to make sure that the water treatment system doesn't get overwhelmed with all of the poop.

Elizabeth Holmes wanted us all to live in a world where we blood-tested ourselves every morning to know whether or not we were Unclean. Diabetics, I'm not talking about you.

If I was writing the script for the Olympics episode of the pandemic I'd have an athlete fake a heart attack and blame it on undiagnosed long covid right at the start, to set the narrative for the whole event. If soccer and tennis are any indication then something bad will happen. Maybe people collapsing in the middle of a game, or something more subtle, like 80% of speed skaters having the worst performance in Olympic history.

so i guess now we're all inventing a past where we regularly tested ourselves for viruses we had no symptoms of just so we wouldn't infect leukemia patients we didn't actually know "i always took a flu test before i visited my grandparents. i always wore a mask when i visited my friend whose brother in law had a kidney transplant."

genuflecting to "the vulnerable." wearing a mask as a show of piety. confessing my sins (testing) every week. taking holy eucharist (vaccine) whenever the Science (Church) deems it so. Vaccine-induced heart attacks are a blessing that bring me into to holy matrimony with technology

The absolute infantilism of not being able to imagine a mutual-aid solution to an incredibly basic logistical problem with supposedly life-and-death stakes. Being a leftist is when your'e utterly dependent on your bourgeois government. Like seriously these people act like they couldn't organize themselves out of a paper bag, even though they've all organized themselves into a self-promotional network with millions of followers. So inane it's got to be a staged conversation.

jfc the whole point is that it wasn't the norm 80 years ago. Steinbeck was the norm and half of American writers were to the left of him. Image

I really wonder how many people out there are imagining the HIV test as the most vivid part of the sex fantasy. I mean if you aren't already just imagining sex as watching porn with somebody in a chatroom.

We could have flying cars and robot servants and full automation and free food and all of it for the shittiest possible technocratic "utopia" of being locked in your home 24/7 talk about a lack of imagination.

Weird how this all-star movie about how the Earth gets destroyed because people don't Believe Science got greenlighted in November 2019. Also how all of the Blue Checks are telling you to go see it even though all the critics are giving it poor-to-middling reviews.

fuck off line goes up on the chart and all of these losers come crawling out of the woodwork demanding that the government jail people in their homes again
