Cross-chain interoperable smart-contracts make appchains better ✴️

In this Blueprint, we introduce three possible implementations of an Interchain Money-Market, and the benefits they bring to the appchain world. 2/ Let’s start with the basics:

Money Markets (MM) are DeFi protocols that enable users to deposit collateral and borrow against it.

To ensure they remain solvent, Money Markets tracks asset prices and liquidate positions before they become insolvent.

Besides its own implementation, Neutron will make @strangelovelabs's Interchain Queries (ICQ) available to smart-contracts.

A core primitive to cross-chain composability, ICQs can be implemented in more than one way, with trade-offs.

So, what makes Strangelove's ICQs different? 2/ Queries are specific, question-like instructions which the Cosmos SDK understands.

“How many tokens does this user have? Which validators have they delegated to?”

The SDK knows where the relevant data is stored and can combine it into a structured answer.

Neutron makes smart-contracts interoperable cross-chain, broadening the design space for DeFi.

So, how can Neutron's tech make Interchain DEXes better?

Introducing “Blueprints”, an exploration into the architecture of future cross-chain DeFi, to excite and inspire. 2/ Cosmos DEXes have iterated fast, enabling IBC, superfluid staking, orderbook trading, etc.
Still, there is always room for improvement.

Let’s look at common limitations:
- Necessity of bridging assets to/from the DEX,
- Multi-hop IBC denominations can break interoperability

With Interchain Security in sight, it’s time for an update on Neutron’s launch sequence.

Through this process, Neutron will be hardened into the most secure smart-contract platform on Cosmos.

1/ Neutron is bringing Interchain Accounts (ICA) to CosmWasm smart-contracts.

ICAs allow modules and smart contracts to execute and track transactions on foreign zones, without deploying additional code. With ICQs, they're the Interchain's secret DeFi sauce.

Here’s why 👇 2/ At a very basic level, Interchain Accounts empowers protocols and modules to:

💼 Create and control accounts (aka “wallets”) via IBC, instead of local private keys,
📑 Write and transport transactions in a way that can be executed on the host chain.
