Good morning dear Progressives.
1. For this Lagos State Elections let me be the first to confirm that I became a full-fledged and fully focused Yoruba and not Nigerian as is my natural outlook. I did not rise to the point of ethnic bigotry in my view, but came close to it. Guess… twitter.com/i/web/status/1… 2. There was unbridled ethnic rhetorics by mainly Igbos against Yorubas in the week after the Presidential elections which the ruling party lost to the LP in Lagos. In that election, the win by LP was not an Igbo only win because many Yoruba youth and professionals and Christians… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

I will continue to stand alone in this issue of cashless policy and no matter our revisionism I will lay out the facts:
1. Was this policy designed against politicians? Policy was mad in October 22 and we were given at least 3 clear months to DEPOSIT our old currency in the banks… twitter.com/i/web/status/1… 2. We were even told that the our daily allowance would be reduced to 20k or so which was later increased to 50k after criticism. At no time did ANY POLITICIAN say that this policy was targetted at them. is it that politicians did not know that they would need cash for elections… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

1. How can you even say it? No man's land ke?
On my mother side, my grandfather, late Pa John Sogbola of Lafiaji/Foresight was of Belgian & Egba parentage. He was first indigenous Pay Master/Accountant Gen of the Lagos City Council. We grew up around Foresight/Moloney/Lafiaji/ 2. My maternal grandmother, Aurora Kotanawola Oyesile was of Egba and Lagos parentage. Her homestead was Tokunbo area of Lagos and later Obalende. We cavorted around the area as well. Mama Obalende had 3 children of Badagry DNA, so I have cousins that are Senami, Nunayon etc/

1. PROFILE OF LAGOS STATE
Lagos State was created on May 27, 1967 by virtue of States [Creation and Transitional Provisions] Decree No. 14 of 1967 which restructured Nigeria’s Federation into 12 States. / 2. Prior to this, Lagos Municipality (the FGN capital area was administered as a Federal Territory by the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Lagos Affairs as the regional authority, while the Lagos City Council governed the City of Lagos./

1. Just like the LTG 'Miscara' lie was allowed to fester & become ingrained by the loudness of the lie told, retold & pushed by an irrational mob on SM, the @inecnigeria glitch will fester on the same tactics if not robustly destroyed. 1. All that is in the future for Nigeria if you vote for Athiefku or WeathercockObi is a return to economic destabilisation. Obi whose name is Peter and a known waverer will return to trader economics, that basic act of buying & selling that he is famous for. He will reverse/ 2. all the production gains we have made in 8 years. Imagine this: Allowing importation of rice back into Nigeria-all the gains made in rice production, value chain rice already developed, jobs created in the agric sector? Rice will become cheaper ONLY with sustained development/

1. People have not talked enough about @officialABAT's smart developmental strides in Lagos. Even BAT may not remember many of his ingenious moves. One that I am familiar with is the Lagos Urban Transport Project (LUTP) which gave birth to LAMATA which also gave birth to BRT/ 2. BAT's terms were majorly for reforms of many sectors. Did you all think Molues just disappeared from Lagos streets? No, they did not. the LUTP was designed to incorporate the NURTW owners of Molue into the mix & their buy-in made the difference. The NURTW was the first/

1. Abu, some of us just kept quiet and were watching drama. That case at the S.Ct had many commas: First CBN was not a party in the action so how can CBN obey an order in a suit it was not party to. Second, the States sued the FGN. CBN Governor operates under the CBN Act-a law/ 2. PMB that the order was directed at can not override the powers of the CBN as contained under Legislation. Only NASS can amend the CBN Act. The states that sued knows that CBN could not have been sued in the S.Ct as court of first instance and so came directly to S.Ct under/

Let me try to throw some light on this as a Yoruba person. Yorubas do not take things to heart. They do not hate. They are relatively tolerant & welcoming people and most times self-effacing. Igbos however have a more "in your face" dominance which Yorubas call "kari mi" meaning/ 2. Let them see me (I go show dem say I dey here). Yorubas are very big on respect whether genuine or eye-service respect. It is a cultural thing. A child born 30 minutes before another is older and still will get the respect from the 30 mins younger brother. Igbos are not big/

There is this character of the Nigerian, which adversely affects Nigeria as a nation & which is counter-productive and self-destructive. EVERY Nigerian is complicit somewhat in the endemic corruption of our nation. We need to reflect. My Ambulance saga/ 2. Yesterday, my immediate elder brother took ill and required an ICU & his normal hospital referred him to a facility that has an ICU. We needed to get an ambulance to take him to the unit. So the hospital called a private ambulance service and we paid N80k. All good right? NO/

1. Today, the problems of yesterday have somewhat abated. I successfully did several transfers on my GTB internet banking. I have also been able to purchase groceries from supermarket (Goodies) without the stress that my girl got at Shoprite yesterday. See oh on this Naija issue/ 2. I am a die-hard coconut head optimist. This our country is a good country. It is we, the Nigerians that are the wahala. As many of the bad eggs that want to japa, please, you have my blessings. 1. We need to focus on the BIGGER PICTURE in this elections. I am speaking directly to all Buharists. Some of you may not be so enamoured by Asiwaju, but one thing you must be united against is PDP. The reason we support PMB is the reason we must vote BAT and APC. PDP must not/ 2. come back to power. Obi is not even in the equation for a time like this. He has no clue about the nation he seeks to govern. We need to elect the person who will advance the giant strides we have made in Agriculture, rail and road infrastructure, Power etc. Only the APC can/

1. I have no problem with Obi saying he will continue with the Siemens deal IF he wins in his dreamland, what i find sad is that he obviously knows nothing about the SIEMENS' DEAL. If he did, he would have been able to tell us specifics & the expected impact on distribution of/ 2. power to us, the users. 1. Election campaign sadly is disappointing in the least. There is much to unpack about Nigeria but the opposition parties are empty & the Media suffers a dearth of professionals in key sectors of the economy, thus real issues are not getting indepth analyses. I will do my bit/ 2. I have always known that Obi is shallow, but I am sad that those eggheads that are in his team of technocrats who crafted his Manifesto are equally shallow. Follow me on this short journey. He will move us from consumption to production. My question has always been "HOW"?/

Shout out to @nimaelbagir & @StephanieBusari I know that many of us won't bother to read the amendment that Brother Rishi Sunak has drafted to the existing Public Order Act of UK so I, busybody that I am have decided to bring it to you here, hoping that @lshaofficial and @LagosMoj will take notice:

1. My brother, let me answer you with this mini thread. You are in an area that is opaque to you. But mind you this is the same practice in criminal law ALL OVER THE WORLD. The tenet is "every one is presumed innocent until proven guilty" That is what "we" the society have said/ 2. Society says that it is better that many guilty people go free than that ONE innocent person be adjudged guilty. Because of this, the society demands proof of guilt beyond reasonable doubt. Now let me give you a few scenarios:/

1. This is pretty interesting and raises a jurisprudential point. Section 167 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act states that a person given bail may be required to produce such surety or sureties as, in the opinion of the court, will be sufficient to ensure/ 2.his appearance in court when required. The Act however lives the discretion of who can be the Surety and the bail terms and recognisance to the Judge. Image

1. Good morning Nigerians. I had a discussion with one of the 'relocatoree' to UK yesterday & I want to bring out more discomfiting analyses from what is happening. I can only implore Nigerians to focus on our country let all hands be on deck to build a great nation: / 2. In just one university in Wales, (name withheld), a minimum of 600 Nigerians were newly given admission for Masters. The person I spoke to is between 45-50 years old. The cohort are in the range of 35-50 I understand. They are all paying £12,000 school fees per annum/
