Lot of debate last week about meaning of 'legal effects' & 'similarly substantial effects' in Article 22 GDPR.
My contention is that this is a high standard & does not offer blanket protection that some have claimed for things like 'online advertising' & 'personalized pricing'
I went back to the Article 29 Working Group Guidance and looked there for some more answers. (This can be found here ec.europa.eu/newsroom/artic…) One side of the argument - online advertising and personalised pricing amount to legal effect, and if not LE, then 'SSE'. I argue that no.
