In landlocked Nara prefecture, before refrigeration, sushi was difficult to keep in summer. Hence the local speciality "persimmon leaf sushi", wrapped in a leaf that preserves the moisture while the natural tannin in the leaf acts anti-bacterially and adding flavor. #柿の葉寿司 
And also my breakfast today. Thank God for local cuisine.
Maybe it is food euphoria speaking, but imagine eating fresh food in 2019 that has not touched plastic at any point and no refrigeration? I can compost the packaging.
