I met so many fierce warriors over the weeks and months to follow. All Kentucky women.
Each of them taught me so much.
We launched an all out assault on those legislators that wanted to destroy us and everything we worked for.

defeated one pension bill (SB1)
Stopped a special called session by the former governor
Elected @GovAndyBeshear and our sister @JColemanKY

I am the product of a public school education — @atherton_high Class of 1965 — and I am proud to stand with Kentucky teachers today. #120Strong
Last night in Frankfort, Republicans abandoned the promise to provide a secure retirement to KY educators & public employees. KY will never advance if we continue to disregard the value of teachers and endanger the future of our workforce. 
And the KY GOP is not stopping with pensions. An attack on teacher tenure was tucked into the pending Senate budget plan. It is an absurd proposal, and a surefire way of exporting our most talented minds.
