First, letās be clear on who this guy is. He worked in the Ken Starr investigation, and helped write the Starr Report. He was a key activist during the 2000 FL recount, pushing to end it in favor of Bush. Before Bush appointed him to the bench in 2003, he had had no judicial exp.
Most importantly, Trumpās pick of Kavanaugh serves his needs. In 2009, he argued that the president should be exempted from both criminal prosecution and civil suits while in office, arguing that the latter should be delayed until he leaves the presidency.
