Atiku’s Withdrawal from the #Presidentialdebate2019 is a Tactical Masterstroke--A THREAD
I’ve read commentaries that aver that Atiku’s decision to bail out of the #2019Debate in protest against PMB’s decision not to participate in it was a tactical error. I disagree. Here is why.
The presidential debate is designed to be a match--or, if you like, a push and pull-- between the defending champion, i.e., Buhari, and contenders to the title he holds, i.e., Atiku, Moghalu, Madam Oby, Sowore, and others. If the defending champion declines to thrown his hat into
the ring, the entire match becomes pointlessly self-injurious to the challengers. In other words, it would have been a fatal strategic and tactical error for Atiku to partake in a potentially bruising contest with other challengers while the defending championing sits pretty

Atiku and PDP spend so much time criticizing PMB and APC, they forget they were in power for 16 years and failed Nigerians! They forget Atiku was in govt for 8 yrs and didnt achieve any of these broad plans he is speaking about now? Why didnt they privatize/sell NNPC in 16 years?
It is best for PDP and Atiku to focus on telling Nigerians why they won’t fail again. Why they should ever be trusted again with our nation’s wealth? This #2019Debate would have been the perfect opportunity for Alh Atiku to try to prove that.
PDP always feel the easiest way to promote their ambition is to attack PMB & APC. Meanwhile their Govt was given an opportunity and they failed. They should focus on redeeming their image & tell Nigerians how they want to correct their failures and stop using APC as their defence

If you deeply observe, everything cum event is your teacher. Imagine how NEDG/BON Debate shot themselves in the leg with the exclusion of @YeleSowore. Now look at what they have on the set...The gap tooth of a General. 🚶🏿‍♀️#2019Debate
Now let me address the @atiku action from my own strategic understanding.

Debate is the soul of Democracy because information is the currency of same. It’s like a war of words where a constellation of ideas are juggled in the bid to win hearts and minds.
In Nigeria we are fast eroding the pillars of the irony of choice that instructs us to pick our weapon of self destruction. We now have credible options thus the reason why an experienced politician like Atiku would rush down to honor such from his trip.

We came here for a Presidential debate, not a candidacy debate, and I, Atiku Abubakar cannot challenge or question an administration where the man at the helm of the affairs of the nation is not present to defend himself or his policies. #2019Debate
Afterall, you cannot shave a man's head in his absence. I do not believe in attacking a man who is NOT here to defend himself.
As a leader and former vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, let me first apologise to all Nigerians, my fellow candidates and the moderator for the APC Presidential Candidate’s absence in this debate. His non-appearance is a slight on ALL of us and our democracy.

PETER CHANG: Nigeria Made In China!
@PeterObi knows everything about China except its accent. Who will tell him democracy didn't produce China's economic developments, which he flippantly alluded to at the poorly moderated VPs #2019Debate
Amarere was nothing but a time keeper.
China has the strictest internet censorship in the world. China's law on use of censorship circumvention tools was recently strengthened to attract death by hanging. The supremacy of Chinese Communist Party and President Xi Jinping as a core leader are taught in Chinese schools.
China's democracy campainer and Nobel Peace laureate, Liu Xiabo, who championed non-violent resistance against 'one-party rule' died in July this year, under heavily guarded hospital after serving 11yrs jail sentence for inciting subversion of state power.

On yesterday's debate:
1. APC's @ProfOsinbajo and PDP's @PeterObi weren't really spectacular; they never said anything revolutionary, the other candidates just made them look good.

2. A debate is usually to help undecided voters make their choice based on each candidate's response to critical issues raised. However, for most Nigerians that seem to not be the case, as their minds are already made up.
As a result, their opinion was already skewed before it was formed. Just as @Omojuwa rightly said, your opinion of who wins the #VPDebate is dependent on who you were supporting in the first instance.

BNMC on VP #2019Debate

VP Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has opened the eyes of Nigerians on how a purposeful government operates; build infrastructure to provide an enabling environment for the economy to thrive.
Give economic first aid to those that are too weak to benefit from the economic opportunities and get back that which was stolen from them that made them poor in the first place. #2019Debate
Experience is in deed the best teacher, while others focused on opinionated statistics and lofty dreams, @ProfOsinbajo seamlessly chiselled them into the reality and practicality of governance. #2019Debate

To those of you throwing insults at me, I am here to engage like minds on policies and National development. I am passionate about Nigeria and governance. I have been doing this for years, hoping for a better Nigeria. I was on Nuhu Ribadu / Fola Adeola's campaign train in 2011.
Before some of you here started earning peanuts tweeting for politicians. In the sun and in the rain we were campaigning.
I believed the duo was all that was needed to push Nigeria.
I am not looking for any fame or fortune here. As a Medical Doc, I meet tonnes of people yearly
People who I can hardly remember yet call me by my first name each time they see me.

Don't let this app erode your senses or inflate your ego. Like a balloon you can burst into pieces anytime. If you insult me, I will block you but I will embrace discussions about Nigeria.

#PeterObi comes across as a really smart, competent leader.

Throws @ProfOsinbajo under the bus “the VP is in charge of debt management. We’re no longer part of MINT because we have a poor economy”.

Bad man. 😂😂😂 #2019Debate
The @yppnational VP candidate is having a serious case of stage fright. She wouldn’t win a secondary school debate. Always pivoting to what her undoubtably brilliant boss @MoghaluKingsley will do.

Really poor grasp of the issues. She should have read Kingsley’s book
