This day has been years in the making. I’m so happy to share that from now on I’m indie fulltime!

No more freelancing clients, no more hour tracking, no more calling my passion a "side-project" (1/5)
The revenue chart only shows part of the story. Although it was the safer choice to build this up while freelancing, it was not an easy one.

I’m so happy that all this hard, sometimes depressing work finally paid off. The freedom I have now is a bit overwhelming 🤯 (2/5)
This journey actually began in 2012 when I chose to become a freelancer to be able to start my own business.

Little did I know how much I’d be sidetracked by client work and how many projects I’d have to start (& end) to get to this point. (3/5)

10 days left to launch my 3rd startup of the 12 month challenge. Looking at all the cool stuff coming out of #24hrstartup I do feel like a bit of a slacker!
I've been in naming paralysis for a while now. Most of the functionality finished, but I can't really get any of the design work started until I have a name I'm happy with. Anyone else *constantly* have this problem?
Tried all the usual naming tools but this is such a subjective problem to solve. Most of them come out with stuff that's either unusably bad or usable but no "zing" (there's the subjective part...)

I built trybible.com yesterday during the #24hrstartup event. I have to say that I had a blast, and I also learned a lot about myself. A smallish thread 👇
First of all, live-streaming was really fun! It wasn’t distracting, it was actually enhancing. It was neat to be “on stage” doing the thing you do best.
Well, the thing you THINK you do best. I actually realized how much more I need to learn about JavaScript and the tooling that I use to make products. Being under the clock made me realize how much time I waste Googling how to do simple things.

Try Bible (@trybible). An ambitious bible app - built during a #24hrstartup competition.

Live to do list: notion.so/jordanmoconnor…

If you like the Bible, you'll love this app. Check it out at trybible.com.
We're moving along! Slowly but surely. Have all of the (4) bibles parsed, now just dynamically displaying them on the page. 4 hours in - feeling good!
Almost done with the core functionality. Just gotta finish up the notes and then add all the static code for the nav, footer, etc. Then, it's on to firebase!

I'm starting to get a better sense of what @trybible will be. It's not just going to be a 'journal' to learn more about the Bible. It's going to be a 'hack-able' Bible.
Before you get your knickers in a twist, the intent is not to change what the Bible says, but to allow you to 'write in the margins' and inline with the text to add context and notes.
Plenty of journal Bibles exist, but people rarely buy them because it's easy to just markup your own Bible. You can write in the margins, highlight and underline text, and expand on the text.

In the middle of switching my website from jordanmoconnor.com to jmo.fyi. Apologies if it's buggy for the next 24 hours!
And I also switched my username on twitter. Never loved how long it was. It's now @jmofyi. Short and sweet. Figured I'd pull the trigger before the #24hrstartup livestream!
Also added jmo.fyi/live!

I think the #24hrstartup challenge is a great idea. Don’t know why people are getting their knickers in a twist.
We’ve had hackathons for ages. Nobody complained about those? It’s the same thing basically.
Except @thepatwalls has taken the hackathon concept, and turned it into a distributed, remote event that anyone in the world can watch. It’s super smart.

.@trybible is coming soon! Check out some details about the app here: 24hrstartup.com/jordan-oconnor.
I thought I should mention some things about my workflow / frameworks of choice, because it's somewhat strange and I've never seen anyone do it like this. #24hrstartup
Here's what I use to build fast:
- Hosting: @github Pages
- HTML Framework: @jekyllrb
- CSS: @getbootstrap / @SassCSS
- JS: @jquery
- Auth / DB / Cloud Functions: @Firebase

This keeps things light, modularized and serverless.

🙅 No setting up servers. 🙅 Complicated hosting.
